The problem may be that the pump is not supplying enough water pressure to get to the top arm.

Here is a link to instructions on how to clean the pump. They may or may not work as I do not know what model you have.

I have a new stainless steel Samsung dishwasher. It doesn't seem to be drying properly. Dishes and dishwasher still very wet after cycle is completed.

Hello

Your dishwasher has been designed to use a liquid rinse aid. Pouring a liquid rinse aid into the proper recepticle in your dishwasher when you add dish detergent greatly improves drying performance. You can further improve drying performance by selecting the Sanitize option, in addition to the other options you've selected, and increasing the water temperature. For Best Results, use Jet-Dry Turbo

Spots and film form in your dishwasher's rinse cycle, when detergents are already down the drain. FINISH® JET-DRY® Rinse Agent works in the rinse cycle, lowering the surface tension of water and causing it to sheet. Better rinsing results in less spots and film.

If these recommendations do not improve drying time, please contact Samsung Customer Care

My dishwasher is leaving hard specks all over the dishes after they are washed. I tried cleaning out the spinners but that didn't work.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes.

Hope this helps...

Our dishes have white film on them. 5 repairmen have said they have no idea to the cause. We have tried everything vinegar, rinse aids etc. Could it be a pressure problem due to a plumbing default in...

on an empty cycle fill the machine and use some C.L.R or other lime and scale remover in the machine and let it wash through the cycle.

try putting more water in the tub once the fill cylcle has completed and the wash cycle starts.Make sure the incoming water temp is at least 120 degrees.

if there is no change in the washing of the dishes
you may need to replace the main wash pump. if there is a change then you need to replace the fill valve or increase the water pressure to allow more water in the unit during the fill cycle

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Check the water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible.

This would have happened as the dishwasher was overloaded with more than prescribed number of dishes. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. As the dishwasher is not draining properly, this issue is related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

The dishes on the top shelf does not seem to get clean. Does not appear water is coming out of the top spinning module.

Take out the top spinner and clean it thoroughly with descaler and degreaser / very hot soapy water. Soak it for a while and it will work wonders. Put it back in the machine and it will work like new.

Hi,
Remove each spray arm and check it is clear of food particlesat the jets. The next problem may occour at the rotating joint . If the seal is not good, you can loose a lot of water out of this point.. If both of these seem reasonable, then yes the circulation pump may need checking. First check for any debris in the impeller, and that it is not worn or damaged, and that it is attached to the motor or the coupling is still good. If these are ok, then the motors='s capacitor may be faulty - causing it to buzz more than normal usually, and it looses efficiency, getting hot in the process.

One of these should solve the problem !

When the wash cycle is done, the dishes are wet

It seems that the newer dishwashers are worse at drying dishes than their tupperware melting predecessors were. They have all been tuned down, and do dry less. The only thing that you can do is to set your machine for the hottest wash, power dry and use a rinse agent that provides a sheeting action. Some folks use white vinegar as a supplement to their rinse aid, which has the added bonus of killing mold. Water also stays attached if the water has laid down minerals as noted by cloudy glassware. If this is the case, a dishwasher filter (dishwasherfilter.com, $70) might help. We try to wash hot, with a power dry and use a rinse aid/vinegar. Then, when the cycle is complete, but the dishes are still hot, we open the dishwasher, and "jiggle" the racks to get the excess water off of the glasses, and leave the dishwasher open about 2" at the top, so the dishes will continue to air dry. This has been an effective method for us.
Best regards, --W/D--
