Hi dear

try this

  1. Before you attempt to use any Wi-Fi network, find out what the SSID, Channel, Mode and WEP key are. Some Wi-Fi locations do not require a WEP key. Many Wi-Fi providers have this information on their web site or when you purchase access you will be provided the information.
  2. Ensure you have a firewall program installed and running. This will protect your data.
  3. Start up your laptop and once booted, look for the Wi-Fi network icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Click on the Wifi Connection icon on bottom right of screen and you should see a window that indicates connection, strength and duration. Click on the Properties tab.

  5. Acer /connection problems wireless - wirelessnetworkscreenbl.jpg

  6. The next window will show the type of networking card installed. Click on the Wireless Networks tab.

  7. 02ee437.jpg

  8. Once the Wireless Network Connection Properties window is open you will have two options depending on how you set up your laptop.
    • If you do not see any networks listed in Preferred or Available networks, you will have to manually add the SSID. Click on Add. You will have to enter the SSID and WEP key (if required). Click OK and you should then see the network you just added in the Available networks boxAcer /connection problems wireless - 4d25eb5.jpg>4d25eb5.jpg

    • If you see the correct SSID showing in the Available Networks, then you need to click on Configure in order to enter Acer /connection problems wireless - 92752af.jpg if that is required.

    92752af.jpg

  9. In the next window, enter the SSID for the Wi-Fi network you want to access. Make sure you do not have CAPS lock or NUM lock while entering the information. If a network key is required, click on "Data Encryption and then enter the Network key you have been provided with. Again make sure you do not have CAPS or NUM lock on. Click OK when entered. If you have entered the keAcer /connection problems wireless - fccfda9.jpgly a message will pop up and you will need to re-enter the key.

  10. fccfda9.jpg

  11. Next go to Start - and where it says Connect To click on that and yoAcer /connection problems wireless - 34b0a7b.jpge choices like in the graphic below. Click on Wireless Network Connection and it should work.

There are occasions when the connection doesn't work, in these cases check your firewall software and make sure it allows you to connect to the Wi-Fi network. To check this, disable your firewall software and check the connection again. If you can connect with the firewall program disabled, you change your settings. If your firewall program is not the problem check the SSID and WEP key information that you entered. Both of these are case sensitive. If you had obtained SSID information from the Internet, check with someone in the establishment to see if the SSID has been changed.

oke post in me back

i hope this usefull for you

thanks

Don't know how to connect to my home wifi

Connecting your Acer laptop to your home wireless network is fairly simple.
Before you begin you need to know the SSID broadcast name (Wi-Fi) network name and security passphrase (Wi-Fi network password).

Move the Wi-Fi switch to the "On" position.
Not all models have this switch.

Open the Windows Start menu and select "Connect To."
A list of available connections will appear.

Select "All" from the drop-down menu to view all available networks and connections within range.

Select the desired network and click "Connect."
Enter the security passphrase if prompted and click "Connect" again to join the network and gain wireless Internet access.

first of all make sure your wifi is turned on. In the lower right tool bar next to the time & date, click on the wifi, click open network & sharing. Click manage wireless networks. Hilight each and remove until it is completely empty. Restart your computer & you should be fine. If not there is a physical problem with your wifi.

Most Acers use an IPN2220 Wireless card. If yours does and your router is using WPA or WPA2 (TKIP or AES) security then you'll need to update the driver by searching for it manually using the Custom button (Hardware) in Windows update (instead of Express). This driver is not part of XP service pack 2 or 3. In my experience if you don't update to the newest common form of home wireless security (WPA2 AES) then the older formats seem to become unreliable

Same problem. RESOLVED it by going to device manager (hold the Windows Logo key near the space bar and hit PAUSE) Click hardware tab, and then device manager. click the plus next to network adapters to expand it, then right click the atheros wireless connection and go to properties. Click advanced, then find the power save mode. click it, then chose turn off on the right.

did this and my wireless is working normal again. hope this helps.

Acer aspire will not connect to wireless network

Does your home router have a password? The only thing I can think of doing is removing all the preferred access points from your wireless card's utility or windows (located at start => Setting => Net connections => Wireless => Wireless Networks.

Then add your home access point back.
