I have a Sharp 36F-630 36" TV. Recently, it started getting a "band" across the top of the screen. It gets smaller as the tv warms up. It used to go away completely. Now it goes from...

You have a swollen capacitors in the vertical section try to replace all the leaky capacitors, you will notice that there is a liquid leaking out in the buttom of the capacitor. It is like an oil spill.

Not the capacitors, replaced in August.

Hi, sorry to hear you didn't prevail, i have been doing this for over 30 years and some still stump me... But you see, just changing the capacitors well seldom permanently "Fix" anything for very long. You see, those "Blown Capacitors" were a "SYMPTOM" and are a "RESULT" of some other problem, seldom these days for capacitors fault, Unless, they are overheated. To spontaneously fail. The thing that "Kills" Capacitors, is AC Ripple/Voltage, and Over-voltage. So you see you MUST first find why those conditions exist before you can even begin to replace anything Capacitors included. So as ALWAYS the first place we start is at the Power Supply, now you make sure those voltages are correct. and if they aren't find out what not, and what is causing the problem. Then, in that way you can isolate the fault and fix the cause at the same time. That way it is "Fixed" and not symptomatically treated. Also it is nearly impossible to do anything without a service manual, you MUST try to get one of those, they will also help you identify exactly what is wrong and where to look and what to do.

3 year old Samsung 40 inch LCD TV will not turn on

The problem is 4 capacitors on the power supply board. Just had mine done under warranty. They (Sears) replaced the whole power board but you can get larger capacitors and just replace those for alot cheaper if not under warranty.

Samsunb 4051: TV screen turns off sound stays on.

Most likely this set has an "integrated" inverter, as most samsungs do--and this DOES sound like an inverter problem. Make SURE thought, there are no more bad "10 volt" caps on the power supply...ALL of them need to be replaced no matter HOW they look.

Is there any High Voltage DANGER when repairing a Samsung LCD TV

Just be careful around capacitors, which could possibly still hold a charge. Otherwise, there are warnings on parts that you shouldn't touch. I would say that the biggest thing to watch out for is getting stabbed by the sharp solder points. I always forget how much it can cut you.
