After filling up washer won't work

It stopped working after it filled, tried the lid switch, changed cycles still won't work, and when you change load size it spits out a little water.

After filling it should go into agatate if you tried a lid switch then I would check the motor coupler it may be broken or striped. Couplers are a common problem it's there to save the motor if it get hung up. While you have it out check the clutch and brake lineings. If the motor is runing it could be the agitator splines striped and wont turn.
If it has belts check them ,also pullys
That pretty much leaves the timer not likely and transmisson not likely but possible.

Maytag_lse7804ace: washer won't fill with water. If I fill it by hand, the cycle works fine (until it gets to the rinse cycle, when it won't fill again).

Hello John,
The most probable reason the washer is not filling is because of a blown fuse that is part of the lid switch asm. By UNPLUGGING THE WASHER and removing the 2 INNER screws on the the control panel and the control panel can be rotated down to see the fuse in the lid switch asm. Here is where the fuse is on the switch asm. its circled in red 11_4_2011_1_39_54_am.jpg

My washer fills and doesn't stop. I try to advance it to the spin cycle but none of the cycles work. I changed the lid switch because it wouldn't fill at all. Now it fills and nothing else. Tested...

The fill switch is bad. That's the only "safety" on the washer that will shut the water off after reaching desired depth. To test it, run your machine on the various water levels. For example, start out on the low setting. If the water doesn't shut off after the tub is half full, then it's the fill switch inside the unit next to the tub.

Water fills in, but wash cycle won't start. spin cycle works, changed motor still won't work

Its either in the lid switch or timer. Examine the lid switch. Try starting the wash cycle and press in on lid switch to make sure it activates. If the lid switch is good and you dont hear the motor trying to activate during wash than its in the timer. Does the timer advance? Please comment me back If you need further assistance.

The washer turns on and fills up but then stops. If you bang the lid a few times it will usually continue on the cycle and be fine. You have to repeat the lid banging for every load though. The lid...

Sounds like the switch that the lid presses is either broken or has been knocked loose.

Or the little plastic or metal "switch actuator" (the little poker) that presses the switch has broken.

I believe the washer thinks the lid is open because it will fill up but wont't wash until it knows the lid is shut.

Washer continues to work even if water is not filled to top and even if i try to stop continues to spin

A defective pressure switch can interfere with the cycles that depend upon the switch to indicate when water has filled or emptied from the tub. It can also result in underfilling or overfilling of the tub. The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle.
