Question about Mag Innovision LT782S 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor goes black.

After I've been using the computer/monitor for awhile, the monitor just goes black. I then have to power the monitor off and back on. This is happening more frequent all the time. Do I need to purchase a new monitor or is this something that can be easily repaired?

This is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. After you turned it on and the screen went black or stopped working, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

My flatron L1710S flat screen will not come out of power saving mode. When I turn on the monitor the power button/light is green for a few seconds, the screen indicated "power saving mode", then...

I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the screen is completely black. A blue box appears centrally on the screen with the text 'power saving mode'. The green led light turns amber and then the screen just goes black.

Please don't suggest going to control panel, as I can't get that far.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING give me

My monitor goes black for about 2 seconds then goes back to pict.

Sounds asif the Xenon tubes that backlight the LCD are losing power. Probable cause, a power invertor or PSU fault.
It can be repaired by a hardware specialist, but best written off.
The cost of repair will be better spent on a new monitor.

Dell Monitor goes blank, green light still on.

Have you tried connecting that monitor to another PC. It sounds like you may have a problem with the monitor itself (component failure, heat problem, etc)

Monitor goes blank after 5-10 minutes

You may have a compatibility issue with your monitor. You computer may not be putting out enough power to support your monitor. Check your users manual on your monitor for output requirements. If the monitor's manual has a number to call, call the manufacturer to see if there are any compatibility problems between your computer and your monitor and calling the people who built your computer as well. Get as many scenarios as you can to find a solution. Hoped this helped.

Power but no picture

Try to re-solder the inverter part of the board. You may recognize that part where the 4 connectors from the backlight tubes can be found.... usually the small transformators (sorry, my technical English is not good) have bad soldering eyes after longer use. This may work if backlight turns on for a few seconds, then the power led is still alight but screen goes dark.... the inverter then "thinks" one of the tubes might be defective and turns power off. Hope this helps a little...
