Question about KitchenAid Dishwashers
During a regular cycle, the "NORMAL" and "CANCEL" buttons started flashing continuously, dishwasher will not operate at all. Turned power off overnite and when I turned it back on light blinks again??? Can I fix this myself? (Mechanical skills well above normal)
The part you need is the console, what happens is moisture gets into the 'keypad' and causes corrosion shorting out the trails. The keypad is not a serviceable part it comes complete with the console which is not too hard to replace. I can help you with that if you want.
The part number you need is 8574148, it also has substitute number of W10083998
You can try calling Kitchen Aid to obtain the part or look in the yellow pages in your area for an appliance parts dealer. If it were me I would try KitchenAid first you never know they may cut you a break since you are a loyal customer...... if you know what I mean....
