Question about Bosch Nexxt 500 Dryer

Bosch Nexxt 500 gas dryer takes a long time to dry

Our Bosch Nexxt 500 gas dryer takes a long time to dry on the permanent press very dry setting. Usually requiring two cycles before the clothes are dry. Doesn't seem to matter if the load is large or small (in fact, smaller loads tend to do worse). Regular/cotton extra dry setting works fine.

The washer is also a Bosch Nexxt 500, and seems to spin the clothes well. The dryer is a gas dryer. Lint catch is regularly cleaned, the vent is only 5 feet long with a single 90 degree turn where it exits the dryer. I replaced the flexible duct with a solid one (this helped a little, but there didn't seem to any big blockage in the old one). I replaced the moisture sensor on the dryer, but that made no difference. Dryer reports no error codes.

Any suggestions for things to look for?

Thanks!

Tried cleaning the moisture sensors with a wet rag, but it had no effect. Any other suggestions?

I wish. Nothing seems to make it dry in a single cycle on permanent press. As I said in my initial post, I even tried replacing the moisture sensor (the chrome strips cpldw48 mentions) with a new one, with no effect. I think there is just an inherent defect in these dryers. I would not buy this again. Sorry I don't have better news.

What could be a cause of water leaks from Bosch Nexxt 500 gas dryer?

Since there is no water lines connected to a Bosch Nexxt WTMC 6500 gas dryer, the water leak has to be from excess water from the clothes you are trying to dry. Which is probably more the problem.

Does your washer leave an excessive amount of water in the clothes after the spin cycle?

Why does dryer stop when the clothing is still damp?

Hello,

I`m assuming you have not received any error code from the dryer since you didn`t mention that, but would I be correct ?

Have you tried both timed dry and auto dry settings ? If this happening in both setting`s it will help narrow down what to look for.

Are the cloth`s typically spun out really well by the washer ( and is it a Bosch Nexxt as well ) before entering the dryer ?

I will watch for your response in this post and hopefully I`ll be able to help find an acceptable solution for you.
