The pin is probably stuck in the blade. This happens from time to time after they get dirty. Take some WD-40 or some other type of penetrating oil and spray a little in the blade holder while working the release lever. It will probably free right up.

A piece of a broken blade is stuck here the blade fits into the saw (Dewalt DW 303m). How do I get it out?

Craig, a drop of penetrate oil and you will just have to work at it with ice pick.small screwdriver, or needle nose pliers if you can, make sure you have blade release depressed while trying to pry blade shank out. Once you get it moving it will fall out. Clean and blow out blade port before inserting another blade.

The spring loaded clamp sleve mechanically holds the blade pin down to hold the blade in place. It doesn't pull it up to release the blade but simply lets the pin float freely so the blade can be removed.

I have a dewalt model dw008 reciprocating saw.while removing a broken blade a small steel ball fell out. #52 in their parts manual.where does it go?

Here is a parts diagram. Item 52 is the ball. It fits behind item 49. Item 49 has a groove machined into it so that when it is moved it allows the ball to move away from the blade far enough to insert the blade. Once the lever is released the ball moves back and locks the blade into place.

Broken reciprocating saw blade stuck in saw

Hello, I found a very quick and easy solution to this. Pulling the blade release and shaking, and taking the saw apart, did not work. What worked instead was to simply turn the saw on while pulling the blade release at the same time - when I did that, the piece of stuck saw blade came shooting out. Please be VERY CAREFUL while doing this, making sure you are wearing eye protection and pointing the saw away from others, so that no one gets hurt by the ejecting blade piece. I would also suggest knocking and shaking the saw while holding the blade release before you try this, as another poster suggested, because if the blade piece is big enough it might come out this way, or at least it may help loosen it so that it will easily eject outward when you turn the saw on. Good luck!

The lever that releases the blade is no longer working. In other words the old blade is stuck and the lever doesn't release it any more. Any thoughts on a fix?

Sometimes plaster and drywall dust, or other abrasive materials cause these parts to stick... Try some WD40. I spray mine as routine maintenance! (You might have to let it soak for a few minutes the first time) Hope that helps!

The blade lever on my sawzall is stuck in the up position

oohh, that a tough one. you gotta, very carefully peal back the hand gaurd, the rubber where you hold onto it, at. Then releas the screws undeneath. Seems like you should be able to cycle the saw to its furthest out position, then remove the blade gaurd, uning some pliers of some sort you should be able to make the release, release.

Hope this helps
