Hi,
Make sure that the computer is connected to the router properly and there is not loose conection. If it good then check the IP address on that computer. Make ssure that there is static IP address on the computer.
The default gateway number will be the IP address to access the router set up.
If you do not get IP address and if it says media disconected then try to disable the Local area connection and enable it.
If that doesn't work then try on another computer.

I connected WRT54GL router to Motorola modem per linksys instructions. the router is not able to connect to the internet. please advise

This is most likely due to the Motorola modem still having the Media Access Control (MAC) address of the device that was previously connected the modem in NVRAM.
In order to clear this old MAC address, the easiest thing to do is to unplug the power cable from the modem for 15 to 20 minutes. This allows the NVRAM in the modem to clear and makes it able to accept the new MAC address of the router.
After the modem has been unplugged from the power for 15 to 20 minutes, plug the Ethernet cable of the router into the modem and plug the power cord back in to the modem. After the modem syncs back up to the network, it should add the MAC address of the WRT54GL router to its NVRAM and assign it an IP address. This should allow the router to connect your systems to the Internet.

Setting up Linksys Wireless Router for Satellite

In Windows, run "cmd". Type "ping google.com". If you can ping google.com, the problem is with the websites you are trying to surf. If you cannot ping google, there is a problem with your connection. This sounds like a used wireless router

You might need to configure it. See this: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=139668#H2

Linksys speed cut off

First, are you connected via Ethernet cable or are you linking via Wi-Fi? If Wi-Fi the speed is alway slower (up to 54 Mps) If connected by Ethernet, your connection speed should read 100 Mbps. Once you have determined the connection mode and speed.unplug the wireless router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Now test the speed and see if the speed lag is still ther. If not, you have a routing /networking issue but, it it is still the same speed, it could very well be heavy traffic ( a lot of people drawing from the same local area signal., usually at specific times of the day).

Wireless connection ... We got new computers and are trying to re-connect to the network through the linksys. it has connection with the terminal, but not the internet. We have two computers that need to...

Power cycle your network starting with the modem(unplug for 1 min replug in, this includes network cables), now see if getting signal, if not unplug the power adapter for your router leave for several minutes, and plug back in check signal. If not you may need to reset your router then reconfigure, or it could be faulty and need the firmware flashed, linksys will cover it under warranty for a long time you can call them to get free tech support, they will see if it needs to be replaced by pinging it. It could be that the setting's are not configured correctly. You can run the setup cd on all pc's but it's not neccesary. Call linksys and have them remotely check router, if it's ok email me and I'll walk you through setup. If it's not the router , I'll run you through troubleshooting the network, one node or component at a time. If it's not a windows operating system on your computers or a mix please post so the best person can help find solution.

Wireless router not connecting

Be sure that your Modem plugs into the WAN port on the router.

1. Unplug your cable/dsl modem power
2. Unplug your Router power
3. Plug in your modem power ... wait for it to come completely up.
4. Plug in your WRT54G Router and wait for it to come up.

Press the reset button on the back of the router for 45 seconds while it is powered on. This will do a factory reset. Wait for it to come up. Then unplug it. Wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. Let it come all the way up.

Plug a PC into one of the switch ports on the router.
Now do an ipconfig /release and ipconfig /refresh in the command prompt of your PC to get an IP address from your Router.

Now you should be able to ping 192.168.0.1 and you should be able to get into the the configuration utility by putting http://192.168.0.1 in a browser. The username should be blank and the password will most likely be admin (all lower case).

Be sure to lock down your wireless SSID so neighbors and people passing by are unable to connect to your access point and do bad things on your network.
