Re: Ipod is disabled and locked
I think you should backup your music/videos to your PC before itunes not work or other emergency incidents, to prevent important data loss.
I recommend u Daniusoft iTransfer. many of my friends are using this product. it can help u to transfer music /videos from iPod/iPhone to your computer and backup them. then you dont have to worry about data loss.
and it also has the following features:
1. Convert videos to iPhone/iPod supported video formats automatically before transfer it to iPhone/iPod. 2. Synchronize iTunes libary with your iPod/iPhone.

Re: Ipod is disabled and locked
I would suggest that as opposed to trying to enter a code into the ipod that you take it to your local police station and hand it in as someone must have lost it. If you hang onto it you are in fact stealing it.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You can reset it using iTunes. Open iTunes, plug the iPod in using USB,
then turn of the iPod, once it's off hold down the home and lock buttons
for 10 seconds, then release the lock button while continuing to hold
the home button. After a few seconds iTunes should detect the iPod. Then you should be able to restore the iPod without the code.
If your iPod touch is locked by a 4-digit passcode, the only way to get
past it is to force the unit into restore mode by doing the following:
1. Start iTunes and Plug the iPod touch in to your computer via the sync cable. This could be firewire and/or USB.
2. Hold the sleep/wake button(the button at the top) and the menu
button(round button at the bottom) down at the same time. Keep them both
pressed until you see the 'restore' screen (an iPod cable and an iTunes
disc symbol) on the iPod touch. If the ipod turns off or shows the
"Slide to power down", just wait and try again. It takes about 10
seconds. Once the restore screen shows, Release the buttons.
3. Windows should quickly "install driver software" for a few seconds.
iTunes should now display the iPod touch, along with a message that the
iPod touch is in recovery mode. Click the RESTORE button in iTunes to
restore the iPod touch.
Please note that doing this will
erase the contents of the iPod touch -- that's how the system is
designed to work: a passcode lock is meant to protect the data on the
put it into dfu and restore it. youll lose everything but youll still get on it. just google how to get into dfu i think its like hold power button 10 seconds home button with power button 3 seconds and home button for 30 seconds. then itunes should say that it found an ipod in restore mode or something.
you will have to restore your ipod to factory default settings in itunes.
or you can jailbreak the ipod with software like quickpwn.
Here is how to restore your ipod in itunes.
You will need to put the itouch in DFU/Recovery mode to get it to connect.

Home Button down for 5 second (do not release it) Then

will reboot. Release
the power button and continue holding the Home button for an additional 27secs. You may
see the screen go blank or not. Plug the
USB end into the computer with itunes open. Your ipod
will mount in recovery mode. Restore

if you need any further help let me know. Good Luck
Thanks to everyone who provided solution inputs. I finally have my iPod back. The solution is: 1. Turn of your iPod. 2. While holding down the 'Home' button, connect to iTunes WARNING: Doing this will return your iPod back to original 'out of the box' settings and you will lose everything. On the bright side, you get a 'fresh' start and it will auto update to the most recent software version. Good luck!
