Question about Sharp SD-AT1000H System

2 Answers

Sharp SD-AT1000H We recently got this system, but we didn't get the remote. When we try to power up the unit, it will power up and shut off right away. Any idea what the problem might be?

I had this problem with mine and found it was very sensitive to anything being placed on top of it. Even dust on the top surface would set it off, so cleaing off the top sometimes helped. Eventually I took the top off and there is a piece of metal that contacts with the case. I bent that back slightly and it seemed to do the trick.

I am having the same problem...the manual says to un-plug the unit for five minutes and then plug it back in to re-set, but that is not working either...

How do i turn off the demo mode, the radio shuts off automatically after about 10 min

try this:
If you have the remote, press the "demo" button.
If you don't have the remote, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds while the unit is on.

Turns off

Hi,

Based on your post description, a short was introduced to the output of your system (wires touched). Since you were playing at a high level and the touching wires represents a 0 ohms load, there is a strong possibility that the power amplifier burned (too low a load at too high an output). The burnt component then represents a failure. When you try and power on the unit, it will go to its built-in diagnostics/initialization stage where it will sense the fault and thereafter go to auto-protect (shutdown).

Corrective measure would involve opening the unit and performing diagnosis of the circuitry and components check. Since these call for familiarity with electronics, use of a DVM and a soldering iron, perhaps your best course of action would be to seek the services of a qualified audio technician. Should you venture a do-it-yourself, you would need to concentrate on the audio amp, specifically the finals or outputs which could be a large power IC or a MOSFET pair. Determining which is at fault would simply be removing suspected component and verify that the unit will power on albeit any sound output. Of course the usual precautionary safety measures apply when working with live units.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Lost my remote for my RCA RT2500 Audio/Video Receiver and i cant turn it on because the power button is stuck on standby. I purchased another remote model CRK76 but it wont turn unit on. I also unplugged...

You need to confirm if the power switch is working as the button is stuck . So it is best to get this part corrected before we move to the remote as the power switch or the button aligment can be corrected if you open to check the continuity.
Next the remote controller must be checked for the IR outputs. please check this link below for tips to repair or find a link for a universal type remote.

I have a Bose lifestyle 48 that shuts off seconds after you turn it on. It will also say "storing" in the lower right hand corner before shutting off.

Check all the wires and connections. Check to make sure the speakers are all properly hooked up
in the right place with proper polarity and the unit doesn't have any loose connections. If the wires have been stapled check to make sure the staples didn't cut any wires.

Remote quit working on Sharp HT-DP3000

I know this answer is kinda late for the original poster but I have that system and have been using it for more than three years with no remote. All you do is plug it in, the unit should be in stand by mode, then press the large power button on the front off and then on. The unit will click and then power on. :)
