5 Answers

Please Help I took these pictures with my camera for work, but I forgot to put my SD card in. The pictures are on my camera, but I can't get them on the computer with the cameara cord. The camera doesn't even recognize the removable disk drive on either one of my computers. Its Easter Sunday, no specialty camera stores are open and I have to have these pictures in by tomorrow morning.

The manual and driver download are here:

manual + driver

See page 74 of the manual which shows you how to copy pictures in the camera memory to the SD card.

You can then read the card into your PC to retreive the pictures.

Please rate this solution and accept it as I do beleive it will solve your problem.

This enables you to copy image files, movie clips and voice recording files to
the memory card.
1. Select the [COPY TO CARD] menu tab by
pressing the Up / Down button. And then press
the Right button.
2. Select a desired sub menu by pressing the UP/
DOWN button and press the OK button.
- [No] : Cancels "Copy to Card".
- [Yes] : All images, movie clips and voice
recording files saved in the internal memory are copied to the
memory card after the [Processing!] message is displayed. After
copying has been completed, the screen will return to play mode.

You have to put in the sd card and transfer those pictures to the sdcard. when you are able to transfer the pics to the sdcard, try to jump from one usbslot to another for your computer to recognize that camera.

Hmmm you should try the followings:

First insert your SD card and try to make a copy of your pics from camera memory to your SD card. And then use this SD card to your computer.

Or Using Camera manufacturer and model no. search some driver and software for you so that you can transfer the pics to computer.

if still not fix, let me know your manufacturer and model no.

Thanks

I have a Nikon D5300. I can see the photo count number increasing, but I cannot view the images and they are not going on the SD card. Where are they? The SD card is not full.

many small Nikon cameras have memory to store images ON THE CAMERA. If you have a memory card installed that the CAMERA CAN READ it will put images on the card. if the memory card is corrupted the camera will not use it.

First Backup all IMAGES on Memory Card to COMPUTER make sure you saved ALL images. This is IMPORTANT.

After you SAVED all images you PUT Memory card back in camera and FORMAT it (Format is in TOOL Menu that looks like a wrench)

Now if you can take an images and it saves to memory card you are done. To see if they go to MEMORY CARD. Turn off camera and remove MEMORY CARD and Check.

If it STILL does not work you may have a defective memory card.

When i remove the sd card to upload photos to my computer my new pictures are not there but are when the sd card is in the camera?

There are two possibilities that I can think of. 1) The SD card is full. You will need to copy the pictures off the SD card and onto your computer, then format the card. You can probably do this in the camera, but MAKE SURE you have copied the pictures you want to your computer because the format will erase everything. 2) The SD card is write protected. Look closely at the SD card there is a little slide switch that "locks" the SD card so that your camera cannot put any pictures on it. This slide switch must be in the unlocked position (or NOT locked).
Hope this helps.

Can i transfer the internal memory to an sd card

Yes.
Put the card in and turn the camera on. Press the MENU button. Select the Setup menu (wrench icon). Select "Copy".
Full details are in the "Copy: Copying Between Memory Card and Internal Memory" section of the manual (page 112 in this edition).
