Question about Black & Decker SpaceMaker ODC325 Coffee Maker

Black and Decker ODC325 coffee maker thermal fuse temperature

Anybody know what temperature of thermal fuse should be in this unit? When I took it apart, it had been previously repaired and there were two in series, with different ratings, which seems a bit odd.

Arlene, thanks for your response. I'm still looking to find out what is the proper temperature fuse to put in there.

Spoke w/ my husband about this. He says its perfectly normal, they are all like this. The company buys these in bulk and if were supposed to cut off at 100 degrees, and they get a batch of 50 degrees, its less expensive to just use the two. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Thermal fuses don't work in series the same way some other components do. Two 50 degree thermal fuses in series doesn't equal one 100 degree thermal fuse. It just means that if one doesn't trip at 50 degrees like it is supposed to, then you have a back up that should trip at 50 degrees.

i don't think I agree with this assessment. Thermal fuses don't act in series like other components. Two 50 degree don't equal one 100 degree. All this means is that if the first one doesn't break the circuit at 50 degrees like it is supposed to, you have a second one as a backup. T

Are the thermal fuses near the coil or where the

The thermal fuse should be located near the coil. Usually just below the plate, but that all depends on the model.

I hope this helps! :)

How do you disassemble the black and decker undercounter spacemaker coffee maker. I've removed the screw at the rear of the unit but there must be something else that has to be unlatched

There are two slots on the bottom of the unit. Using a flat blade screwdriver carefully lever the sides apart. The rest of the unit should then be able to be separated.
