Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range
Hi, I have a GE XL 44 oven, model # JGBS23WEA 1WW. The stove burners light, but the oven does not. I replaced the oven igniter, but it still does not ignite the oven flame tube and there is no gas smell when I turn the oven control on. The old igniter was cracked. Any suggestions?

Ray, sometimes the burners get gunked up. Remove the cap and burner and see if the small orifice that is located by the spark electrode is clogged. Clean it out with a paper clip. Make sure the burner cap has good contact with the burner. Catriver..post back.

If your top burners are not lighting or will not work, it is possible that the burners have become dirty or wet. Please follow the troubleshooting directions below before calling service:

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.
