The first thing you will need to is make sure you have the newest drivers for your video card. Next you will need to make sure you have the most current display drivers installed for the projector. The links below will show you how to do this in Windows 7 let me know if you need another version's steps.
After doing this if you still have trouble what you will need to do is contact your video card's tech support to see if they have a custom driver that will support the projector or if they can make one for you. If they have to make one you may have to contact NEC support to get info on the projector.
I used to work for one of the leading graphic design video card company's tech support and we had to do special drivers all the time.

If the problem is what I describe as a blue haze over the entire image projected, I was told this is a defect in the cable - we have a Dell Video Projector 2300 - and it takes only a dell VGA cable.
So, the problem is in the cable - solution is replace cable.
