Question about Radio Communications
First time filter installation on a used IC-706MKII. Can anyone comment on the proper steps to follow and the things to be careful about to install this filter. Filter appears to have (4) solder connection legs on it form the appearance. Or does it plug in? I am not sure by looking at it. I have not opened the radio up yet.
To my understanding, most optional/add-on IF filters are plug-in. For the Icom IC706MkII, it would have to be on the top circuit board. Top cover is held by 3 screws on top and 1 at each sides. After you have physical connected the filter, you need to inform the system the specific filter connected on powerup. This could be done in the "Initial Set-up Mode".
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
