Question about Radio Communications

Looking for tips /advise on installing a FL-100 filter in a IC-706MKII

First time filter installation on a used IC-706MKII. Can anyone comment on the proper steps to follow and the things to be careful about to install this filter. Filter appears to have (4) solder connection legs on it form the appearance. Or does it plug in? I am not sure by looking at it. I have not opened the radio up yet.

To my understanding, most optional/add-on IF filters are plug-in. For the Icom IC706MkII, it would have to be on the top circuit board. Top cover is held by 3 screws on top and 1 at each sides. After you have physical connected the filter, you need to inform the system the specific filter connected on powerup. This could be done in the "Initial Set-up Mode".

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My spray gun keeps stopping and then I reverse tip and it works then stops then I reverse tip and leaking

It's probably the paint-I had a problem with certain brands. I started putting a cheesecloth type filter around the uptake to help filter larger particles and it works a lot better.

Insinkerator has stainless steel tank but does not have anode rod to protect against depleted tank wall.
Leaking tank means broken weld, and you must replace tank.

My Oly FL-36R sometimes does not turn on. I've tried new batteries and it has a mind of it's own. Help.

Hi. I read somewhere on dpreview that you're not supposed to take out the batteries even if you're not using the flash. The tip is to install the batteries about 8-12 hours BEFORE you want to use the flash to charge the capacitor, or something like that...
