Question about Acer Aspire 3100-1405 Notebook
Laptop monitor does not turn on. Problem just occurred this evening. Computer froze up, so I did a hard re-boot. When I powered it back up, the monitor was black, though the laptop was on (green light on power button, fan).
I tried to connect the laptop to my desktop monitor. It remained black.
I also noticed that the left side of the keyboard (just below the keys) was very hot to the touch. Battery was not hot (located under right upper quadrant of keyboard).
Any help appreciated.
Try Screen switch function to switch from Internal screen to External monitor to Both.
Normally FN + F4 (on Compaq or FN + F7 on Lenovo check the Function symbols on your Keyboard: allow few seconds after command to refresh configuration.
try Safe mode also. to check if display shows in VGA format.
