        • Check for broken connectors on drive, motherboard, and drive cables.
        • Check for bent or broken pins on drive, motherboard, and drive cables.
        • Check cable orientation.
        • If available, try a different cable. If drive works with new cable, the original cable is probably defective.

My dvd drive doesnt work in my laptop

Clean the optical head of the DVD drive and try a DVD. If the DVD spins but does not detect, try with a data CD, if there is no reading then the chances are that the optical head is faulty.
If the DVD reads but does not play then the signal procesing section can be faulty. You might need to change the DVD assembly if the unit is out of warranty.

I have acer aspire 4520 laptop, now the laptop bios did not show any dvd-rw. but when i am not used that laptop two -three days then i show dvdrw detect automaticlly. but then use dvdrw with in one hour...

-it is possible that you the optical drive is loose. That can be resolved by re-seating the drive itself.
-first, shut the laptop down, unplug the AC adapter if it is plugged-in then remove thte battery pack of the laptop.
-you need some small philips head screw driver to unscrew just one screw that holds the optical drive located at the bottom of the laptop. You may need to consult the user's manual of the laptop.

DDW-081 CD\DVD Recorder can't read CD

It is possible for your optical drive to read only DVDs and not CD. This is most likely a fault with your drive and may need a repair or replacement.
