Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE G500 Digital Camera

Open Question

Dimage G600 won't read memory card

When I turn on my camera, the screen displays "no card." The card itself is fine, as I can put it into any other camera and all my pictures are there. And if I take a card out of another camera and put it into the G600, I get the same message. So I know it's the camera and not the card. I have tried cleaning the contacts, but that doesn't seem to work. Could this be a software issue? Or is my camera kaput?

I have the same issue and am trying to fix it myself. The suggested solution seems to be reformatting, but making sure that you use FAT format and not FAT32 which is selected by default. I will try this myself later Aodh.

SOURCE: Konica Minolta Z2 SDHC reading card

Spare yourself the trouble. I had researched it (I thought) and got one, and stuck it in. The screen read: "Unable to use," It continued to read this, even after I formatted the card, so I ended up giving it to my brother, who has a Kodak camera. Sorry!

Shutter-release button doesn't work

The manual only can give two reasons why the camera would not take pictures.
One, there is no memory card placed.
Two, the memory card is full.
You are sure you have placed a working empty memory card.
If you did save all the pictures on the memory card to a computer, try formatting the card in the camera.
When you are pressing the shutter release button half, does the camera say it is focused correct? light bottom corner of the display.
Your camera has a setting to take pictures with a remote control. Did you put the camera in that setting? Read page 76 of the manual.

Error code S0042, DIMAGE G600

The S0042 error code relates to a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended)
Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. Let me know if it worked!

Memory card with pic is in my camera but I can't bring them on the screen. it reads: unable to display. how can I see what's on the memo. card? Thanks.

Open them up on your computer.
If the files names have been altered they are no longer readable by the camera.
You can either down load them or pick up a flash reader to to see them.

I cannot get my konica minolta dimage g600 to accept sd card

Hi

the following memory types are supported byt your camera
SD (Secure Digital) Memory Card / MultiMediaCard (MMC) / Memory Stick / Memory Stick Pro

Do you have a card reader on your computer? We could format the card on the computer and then see if it works with the camera.

Can you tell me the size of the sdcard?

To format the card on your computer plug it into the reader, open my computer and find the card from there, ones you have found the right one from my computer right click and select format, Try formating the memory card to fat 12 or 16 and then when the format is complete insert it into your camera again.

(turn off the camera, insert the card, turn the camera on)

If the memory card still doesn't work plug it to the computer again and this time format it to fat32.

If this ia new sd card with alot of storage do you have a smaller card that already works on the camera?

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

SanDisk Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory ...

from $13 - 20 stores

PNY Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory Card ...

from $3 - 2 stores

SanDisk SD Industrial Flash memory card - 512 ... from $14

Here 1 Gb, try at your risk, but they normally work:

1GB Flash Memory Upgrade Card for Konica ... £3.44 - Memory Express

Formatting problems

Try formatting the card on a computer than again on the camera. If you don't have success formatting the card with a computer than it is a pretty sure thing that there may be something wrong with the card.

DiMage Z6 turns off when trying to view pictures

I posted this on another section:

My Z6 worked flawlessly for over a year, then suddenly started shutting off for no reason. Tried new batteries, etc. The problem turned out to be the memory card. My advice, buy a GOOD card instead of a new camera! Keep in mind, flash cards DO have a "life" to them - meaning they can only be used / erased so many times before they will cause errors (so don't buy a used card off of ebay - no matter HOW good the deal seems). If your shutdown problem started with a "unable to read card" warning, then its the card. The camera is actually "protecting" itself by shutting down. Good luck!
