Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers

2 Answers

My Frigidaire dishwasher, model #FD949GFT2 (12 years old) has a blinking "CL" on the control panel and will not operate. The door latch "seems" to be engaging properly, any suggestions?

    Thanks Rylee,

It sounds like the solution you offered is for a washing machine, not a dishwasher. According to the manual with the unit, "CL" stands for "Close" (the door), which IS closed and locked yet the machine is still not operating. I also tried cutting/turning on power to the unit which now blinks "PF" (power failure)and still is not working. I don't want to waste a service call for something I may be overlooking or, worse, will be expensive to fix!

Thanks Taran, I shut off the power for a few hours and tried again but still not operating...sounds like a repairman will be needed (or a new dishwasher!) thanks very much for your help!

Hi,

You are absolutely Correct. It sounds to me like the latch switch is not registering that the door is closed.

However, as PF is also there, i am doubt, it could be Faulty Pad or Control Board. Most of the times, i have seen it to be Faulty Control Board.

Try to Reset it by Unplugging it for Few Minutes, say 30 minutes and then Turn it ON.

If the Problem Persists, i would advise you to give a Call to Repairman.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. CL means child lock, it might have got locked. Try pressing "dry" & "spin" together for 10 seconds or until the CL disappears. Also try pressing "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds.

If this doesn't work then try pressing "options & select" till the light goes off. Also try and press ECO and rapid buttons together for more than 10 seconds

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My dishwasher FDB2510LCC1 get a cl code while washing and stays running on the wash stage until it is shut off

Hello Randy, thank you for your inquiry!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is displaying an error code of "CL" this means close door. The dishwasher may not be sensing that the door switch is closed. The "CL" means that you could have a possible issue with the main control board or door latch. I would recommend checking to make sure the latch does not have any visible damage. This could also be a miscommunication within your dishwasher and a reset may help clear it out. In order to reset the dishwasher you would flip the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. We hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Good Afternoon friend, thank you for your post!

Based off what you have described you have performed multiple tests to your Frigidaire dishwasher and it continues to display a "CL". That code does stand for close door which can mean that the door switch is sensing it is opened. For this error code it could be a possible problem with your door switch or main control. I understand you stated that the control did not appear to have a burn inside of it so it is easy to assume that the door latch could be the issue. Remember if you are not a professional technician this could be the start of unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

Our dishwasher is blinking CL - i think this means 'Close'... Even when the door is properly closed, it blinks CL and won't start!! Help!

Hi

Error CL appears when the dishwasher control detects door switch is open or door is open. You'll have to open the door and check the continuity of the door switch. If the door seems to be closed then it is the control has detected an issue with the door latch. Check the door latch & seals to make sure door is closing fine. Unplug the dishwasher from power outlet and wait for 10-15 minutes. Restart the dishwasher and check if the error is still there. If error still appears then you'll need to repalce the door switch/door latch. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.

Flashes "CL" to close door when it is closed and won't start

The door switch has failed. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing and replacing. It may be a different model but the process will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model.

Frigidaire pld3460rdc1 the dishwasher flashed CL when the door is closed.

The CL is letting you know that the door was closed. If it continues to show CL it means you need to close and latch before the cycle will run. If it just flashes your okay.

Frigidaire Dishwasher (model FDB1050REB0) Wash Light Flashing

Well, I've got a different problem. I need a control module!!!

BUT!

The flashing WASH light appears to indicate the door latch (switch) is not fully engaged. I proved that I mine which works, just doesn't pump out/drain water. If I unlatch the door and then press START, the WASH light blinks.

*WARNING* 120V ELECTRICAL CURRENT! ONLY ATTEMPT THIS IS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

The switch is located behind the control panel (5 screws from the inside.) The Hot (Black) AND Neutral (White) wires comes from the electrical input and pass through the switch. You can do a simple continuity check with the power disengaged to test the path through the switch and into the control module (pins 3 & 9m black and white).

Now... anyone have a Control Module (working) they want to give/sell to me so I don't have to go buy a new dishwasher? I just replaced the drain valve on mine :( If you do, you can send me a note vidioteic (at) gmail (dot) com

Happy Washing!
