Television seems to be operating in NTSC

Bush LCD26TV005 television seems to be operating in NTSC mode and i cannot seem to find a way of changing this. In the manual install menu there are four system options (l,k,dk,bg) but the picture remains stubbornly B/W until i change the output format of my auxiliary source to NTSC whereupon i get a colour picture.

regret that we are not resident in the usa
i am not sure why a tv intended for sale here should be set up this way
the set is obviously intended for use here in the UK as it is designed for use on 240/50 electricity supply as opposed to the US 120 volt system

  • naespamhere Apr 29, 2010

surely if the issue was with the y/c module the set would not give a colour image even when the source was ntsc ?

Change ntsc to pal

The manual seems to indicate that the TV will automatically detect what signal type is present, so PAL should be recognized. There is, however the possibility that the "Color System" setting under the system menu may not be set to "AUTO", but NTSC. This would cause a conflict when detecting PAL input and affect picture. Check the "Color System" and either select PAL or AUTO and see if that helps.

Hi.

I may be able to help you but I need to know the chassis number of your tv set.
This will be on the back of the set on the same label as the model number or if not there it will be on the main pcb.
It could start with AK, or PT.

VCR not working for some cassettes

What do you mean by "not able to play my VCR with some cassettes. " Is it that some tapes do not display images? No Video? From your name it seems that you are from India, Assuming that to be so, I also presume that you must be possesing a Multi-System VCR, to play back PAL Tapes from India, and NTSC tapes from the US. And if that is the case, I guess it is a simple problem of resetting the System standards. Please go to the Main menu of your VCR using the Remote, and select AUTO in System (You will be given choices of AUTO, PAL, NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43 and NTSC PB PAL. Likewise, it is entirely possible that your Television SYSTEm Standard has been accidentally changed. If it is Multi System TV, Then, again, using the Remote of the TV, select Menu, and then select AUTO in System. In all likelihood your problem should get solved.
