this unit has an infrared sensor that determines the ice level and it appears to be working ok. This is located at a 2nd home and has been out of use for about 4 months. The filtered water was very slow so I changed the filter. It made 2 or 3 batches of ice, Now the ice maker will not fill. Coincidence? Is there a second filter in the system?

The plugs will not let me swap them on the valves. I hear occassionaly the machine calling for water with a hum. I do think it is probably in the water line. I can't tell how to remove them from the valve.

It seems to be a pressure fitting but I have been afraid to put much pressure on it.

How do I remove the icemaker and can the water line be checked at this point?

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

If you get water this way then the problem is the ice maker.

You can try jumping the water dispenser wires to the ice maker plugs by using two more wires. You need to be sure that part is working. The line is probably a quick release where you slide the blue ring in and then pull the line out.

The signal to let water in to make ice is by a switch in the ice maker level rod, it is the part that falls as the ice is used up and signals that water must be let in to make ice, this switch fails, it can also be the control board up front causing the problem

My icemaker has stopped working ,also i changed the water filter but it still reads that i need a new filter

Push and hold the button for the filter, and it should reset, the ref. the light will come on based on time, not a dirty filter, so use your water flow out of the spout, as a indicator.

Some of the early models had a sphion ball at the dispenser water tube. When this design worked. it was supposed to sphion water back into the supply line after you stopped calling for water. It's recommended that after you replace the filter and or anytime the water lines are accessed, purge the system. Pull at least 1 gal of water from the dispenser to purge the air. Air in the lines will produce back pressure. This pressure not the same as the regulated line pressure, will continue to push water through to the dispenser and or icemaker. Depending on the model design of the unit, the ice maker may be tricky to purge. Ther are several styles, with the ice bin in the door as trickyest.

Hi, I don't know where the serial number can be found on fridge. 2 door, freezer in bottom, with water on door. Anyway, Icemaker inside just stopped all o f a sudden. it is only 1.1/2 years old. Purchased...

The serial and model numbers are usually located inside the fresh food compartment either on the side or upper area. If not there, then the numbers are probably at the bottom of the refrigerator (remove the kick panel (if applicable) or look along the lower edges of the frame.

Your issue with the icemaker may be one of the following:

* icemaker
*water valve assembly
*water supply line (make certain that it's "on")
*water filter

The ice maker stopped working on my Kenmore Mod 106.55532400

either your water valve is clogged or it has gone bad, located bottom right corner, you can take it apart and check the screen filter if it is not clogged than you need a new valve approx 72-80$ plus install unless you diy!

Hotpoint HSS25GFP icemaker stopped working

are u sure that model # Is right.. DOnt come up in any of my model data bases Seems like u might of got a bad icemaker.. if the water is coming into the icemaker from the water valve.. icemaker has to have power, to do that... all funtions after that would be controled by the iceaker .. The only other thing i can think of is your refrigerator has to be a certain temp to activate icemaker somewhere around 0 give or take some to be safe
