Make sure there is nothing caught where the documents go it. List up the scanner cover and look inside. It may need a separator pad or clean the feed rollers with some alcohol. Lawrence

The error message I was receiving was "Clear scanner jam and then press the stop key".

It was resolved when I cleaned off the sensor under the first roller that feeds documents through the scanner.

It seems that the dust on the film of the sensor was being detected as a something jamming the machine since it could not be fed through. Looks like it is also important to clean the roller since that was putting more dust on the sensor.

I have a brother intellifax 2820 the error message is "the back door is open" the back door is closed , however when i open the back door paper is stuck, whixh i have to remove , how do i correct...

i'm assuming its making an "accordian" type jam. if so, your exit rollers need to be cleaned. you can use water on a rag or windex. the problem is the average user being able to access rollers. looking from front of machine, look closely where your faxes come out, you will see 4 rubber rollers riding on top of 4 wide, plastic rollers. the rubber ones are the exit rollers needing cleaned.

good luck

My fax machine brother 2820 shows document jam. How can i solve it. it shows - clear the scanner jam, then press stop. How can i get tht

for this one you need to make sure there's no paper that was cut while you are removing the paper that was jam, try to clean the rollers with a clean paper the one that feeds the paper . when your done .Lift the printer upside down and remove the cartridges try to shake it for 5x .. I believe the upper portion portion of the printer is removable make sure there are no foreign objects such as ballpens , sharpeners etc...
Hope it help

Error message says unable to print on Brother 2820. It will not answer an incoming call but will transmit a fax. Machine is in almost new condition, barely used.

when you send a fax do you get transmission report? open back to see if there might be a jam, remove cassette to see if there is a jam. if these areas are clear of paper then you have a mechanical problem and it would have to be seen by a tech

I have an Intellifax 2820 and there is an error message of paper jam inside... I have cleaned all paper out of machine... please help me

A jam sensor may be stuck by a paper scrap. Try manually pushing a sheet of paper through the machine IN THE DIRECTION IT IS NORMALLY FED. This may force out any stuck scraps. The jam sensors are usually located where the paper feeds and where it exits the machine. Also, make sure ALL ACCESS PANELS YOU OPENED TO CLEAR JAMS ARE CLOSED PROPERLY. Otherwise, the jam code will not clear.

There is a black sensor arm in the rear of the machine just out of the fuser unit (hot section) on a black cover. It can become dislodged. Check this will read a false jam.
