Question about Panasonic Viera TH-42PX80U Plasma TV

Open Question

Cannot view full picture on screen

I noticed that the full picture does not show up on my screen, for instance the box score on sports events are only partially visible. I have adjusted the aspect ratio on the remote, but none of the views show the entire screen. Is there another adjustment I am missing?

go in to your tv's menu and go in to picture settings , you either have the zoom function on or its been set on 4:3. check these and if zooms on turn it off or if 4:3 is on switch to 16:9

I have a Visio TV and I've noticed that I don't see the entire picture. On sports events, I can't see the scoreboard.

I would start by checking the Aspect ratio on your TV. You may have to navigate through your systems menu and locate settings to find this. (It should be located near the middle of your remote)
There would likely be a few options, one of which may be 'Auto'
-Additionally, try to using the Stretch or full-screen options.
There will be other options which are available to try.

Look for a "Zoom" or "Aspect" button on your remote. Press that untill the picture fits your screen properly.

Cannot view the full picture

First, you have to tell me how the cable box is connected to the TV, by HDMI or component. If it is connected by HDMI, the cable box settings will override the picture size settings on the TV. It may be as simple as resetting the picture size on the cable box, but I am not familiar with the type of cable boxes that Comcast uses.

Picture size won't fit screen. Can't see scrolling text at bottom (e.g. sports scores on ESPN)

hi there,

its probably not the tv but the set top box you need to fix. go to the settings and select the mode you want ie. widescreen 16:9 etc

then go to the tv and select the full mode or widescreen mode at 16:9

that should solve your problem. it takes some time to find the combination between the set top box and the tv to get it right

good luck
