Question about Kodak ESP 3 Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

Open Question

Need help with my new printer which has been causing me grief since I bought it in Feburary. Have had help and support before but still having problems. Have been getting help from staff members in New deli. Had help today but had to stop in the middle of correcting problem due to work commitments. He said all I had to do was state my case no.5833989 and he has passed all information concerning problem and said that they would be able to help me when I was ready to seek help again. Can someone help me?

You have a few options. 1. Use the Printhead cleaning in the Kodak Software this is recomened way and the safest but will use ink each time. 2. Get a T-shirt or another type of cloth that wont leave lint, get some distilled or de-ionized water (tap will work but not as well) and mannually clean the printhead. To do this remove the printhead and look at it. you should only wipe with the nozzels groove. go with the grain not against it. you dont need to put alot of pressure. Place the nozzels on a wet area of the cloth wipe in the directions of the nozzels you can do this on a flat surface or use your fingers to press against. 3. Call kodak say your printhead is dead and you would like a replacement. They should not charge you for it because its not your fault that it does not work.

SOURCE: Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose

Remove it again then turn off the printer for 30 sec. Install printhead first power down again then the ink carts. For the same issue call the Kodak Technical Support 1 800 421 6699

SOURCE: Won't recognize color ink cartridge

This is a common problem with Kodak 5000 series and ESP series printers.
Check the silver contacts on the ink cartridges for small scratches in the center. The scratches indicate that the ink cartridges have made contact with the appropriate connections in the printer. If no marks are visible, the cartridge was not seated properly. If the contacts look ok, you'll have to call Kodak again. It's highly likely that the recertified printer you received was returned for the same problem. If you point out the fact that you are experiencing the same problem for the second time, you may wind up with an upgrade to an ESP5. Don't accept another printhead replacement as thiat will not resolve the problem.

I don't usually print in colour but one of my colour cartridges has run out. How do i continue printing without replacing the finished cartridge. I have read that i need to disable the ink detection...


Please don't cause yourself all this grief. Go get a replacement cartridge and print. You dont say a word about your printer make nor your OS. Be aware that many printers use colors to enhance the black.

If you dont want to do this ... ger a black only printer.

If this is a genuine Lexmark device and a genuine Lexmark cartridge and you followed all the install instructions, return it to where you bought it for a replacement. If you get grief there, contact Lexmark directly. Please have your receipt available when you take these actions.

if you have a warrenty on it then just go to the store that you bought it from and return for a new one, if you dont have a warrenty then nintendo may fix it but im sure for a hefty price! im sorry this isnt a solution for your christmas grief, im sorry!

If the innerds on the PS3 are like the PS2 and XBOX then it's something where the DVD drive would need to be opened and the lens cleaned by hand the the rails that the DVD reader rides along would need to be cleaned and lubed.
I've fixed dozens and dozens of consoles this way

Cannot recognize ink cartridges


If you are using non genuine Epson carts, then you need to change the carts to genuine ones (full set I'm affraid)

Once you have replaced the carts you should find the error goes away. The problem arises somehow from non genuine carts when one (or more) is inserted that has not been "reset" properly by the refiller. This causes a cascading error through the ink monitoring system and ends up with all your inks going empty one after the other. I've seen this on several models of Epson printer.

The alternative is that the printer has fault on the main board. try the carts first it's the cheapest option. If the nmachine is in warranty, get Epson out to it.

HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Print Cartridge Error


Hello -
Did you perhaps not mean to post under the 1315? I am not sure if you have this printer or another model. The 1315 normally takes a different number ink cartridge.

Meanwhile - gotta tell you that the 1315 is the buggiest printer I ever had. If you purchased it recently and can find your receipt, I'd take it back! Since they've pretty much done away with the 1315, if it was a recent purchase, it was likely a clearance item from some place.

Try taking all the ink cartridges out, uninstall the printer entirely, and reinstall it (the entire printer, not just the cartridges). Blow your printer out with canned air as well - dust, pet hair, people hair, fuzz and general paper fibers can build up more than we think, and cause error messages and other printing problems.

That should help, if it was the 1315 model.

That being said, note that if it still doesn't work, and you have the 1315, save yourself a lot of grief and toss it in the trash and buy another cheap printer! 1315 is Bug City!
