The thermal fuse is located behind the back panel just to the left of the exhaust opening (looking from the back), it is white in color and has 2 wires (usually blue) going to it.

If you dryer comes on sometimes I would suspect this is not the problem.

The symptoms you describe most often are a loose wire or a bad motor.

TEDS840JQ no heat

It probably has a bad timer. To check the timer set your meter for ohms or tone if you have tone. Connect a test lead to the terminal that connects to the large red wire from the heater. Now check for continuity between that point and all other terminals on the timer. if ya cannot get a reading the timer is bad. Here is my video:

The thermal fuse keeps blowing

If you pull it out of closet and replace fuse and it works even after turning off again etc for several times--something is happening when it gets put back---did you disconnect venting connection when you pulled it out?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

Replaced the coil and still not heating up on my estate dryer

The thermal fuse (aka thermal limit switch) is probably blown. It is not a good idea to bypass this fuse -- if the dryer overheats, it will not cut off the heating element -- fire is likely in that scenario. If you want to troubleshoot the problem, let me know,
