Sounds like you have a bad power supply or possibly a power supply not rated for your tv or the display is just junk . Unplug it and leave it unplugged until you can get it fixed or looked at, POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD!!!

My 47' LG HD television worked fine yesterday and this morning the red light is just flashing. I just bought this television.

I had the same situation with my 47" LG. I opened the back and found 3 bad capacitors (bubbled on top). I replaced them at a cost of $1.20 ea at Radio Shack. I'm no expert at replacing these, so I let you tube be my teacher. I saved myself over $200 by doing it myself, not to mention there are some dishonest people out there that'll lead you to believe your TV is shot.. See the pics below of the "bubbled/bad" capacitors. These shoud have flat tops..Hope this helps....01b92fd.jpg

When turning on the television it does not turn on right away, taking up to ten minutes at times. There is sometimes a poping sound coming from the back of the television.

You have a defective power supply, most likely faulty electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board. The board can be repaired, I fixed one for a friend, it took 2 new capacitors $0.90 each.

LG 47LC7DF LCD TV turns off with a pop then turns back on.

Sounds like a overheating issue. Try facing a large fan blowing across the back of the unit and see if this changes anything. If it does, it might help to blow the back out with compressed air as dust might be helping it overheat.

LG 47" LCD TV - 47LC7DF Clicking Noise

I was told that these clicking noises (which happen on my Magnavox LCD too) were due to the "power required" at the internal switch. Seems that the power required to immediately turn on the TV is too much for a standalone household outlet, so it "surges" power in a series to get enough there. Hence, the clicking sounds are actually mini power surges to send more power to the internal circuits to turn the TV on.

If your set is like mine, these noises generally stop after a minute or two, correct?
