Kenmore model 970-180020 Water is dripping from the ceiling inside the freezer, I also have frost inside the frostfree freezer. Any help would be great.

Frost inside freezer can be caused by a bad gasket or a defrost mechanism that is not working. Could be the defrost timer, heater element, defrost thermostat.

We have a 21" frostfree

What you have is a defrost problem. The defrost system has 3 parts: The control, the heater, and the heater thermostat. The heater thermostat is called a termination thermostat or "terminator". The defrost mode lasts for 21 minutes in most machines. The job of the terminator is to kill the power to the defrost heater when the temp gets above 50f to melt the frost on the coils. So what can go wrong?
The heater like anything else will go out like a light bulb does; the terminator it will swell up and fail with age as well. OR the control will malfunction. Older ice boxes use a mechanical timer while the new fangled ones use artificial intel to determine when to defrost. Having frost on the backsides of the freezer is a sure sign of ice buildup in the evaporation department.

I have a hotpoint frostfree freezer that is over

Since this is a frost free refrigerator/freezer, you shouldn't need to defrost it, and the frost should not be building as you describe.

If your OK with diagnostic troubleshooting techniques, and have a volt-ohm meter and know how to use it, we can figure out whats wrong with your unit.

Ice pooling in bottom of frostfree freezer

Sounds like the drain tube(s) which carry the defrost water from the freezer and refrigerator to a catch pan at the bottom of the refrigerator are stopped up.

I have seen these drainage tubes stopped up with debris which prevented the water from draining out. This defrost water can be turned into ice which blocks the defrost drainage even more so.

Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer occasionally seems to completely stop working. Even semi defrosts and leaves some water on floor. after a while it starts up again. Is there a problem here?...

I've had the same problem with my Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer. It's a major downer to go into your freezer to find all of your frozen foods (much of it expensive meat) - defrosted, some or all of it ..ruined. I sometimes wonder how many times it may have stopped working without us knowing, (since we sometimes go days without needing to open it) and just how creepy some of the meat that I am serving my family might be.
On top of destroyed groceries, the cows and chickens lives lost in vain - (aka wasted meat - I'm sensitive to that as the vegetarian in the family), it gets extremely hot on the outside when this occurs. It gets so hot, that we're actually worrying about a fire. It's almost like it is periodically overheating and going into an auto-shut down mode.
Needless to say, we are not "digging" our Frigidaire/electrolux frostfree stand up freezer.....
We are considering ditching it and buying some other model - refurbished. This just stinks... is disappointing... we paid a ton.. and now it's headed for a landfill.... (really?) JUST LOUSY!
Would LOVE a solution.... would love to know of others with this problem...

I have a candy frostfree fridge freezer GL90AA; it never switches off,i.e. I can hear it run all the time.

If it is not reaching the cut off temp because
the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
How to check everythinghttp://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Whirlpool arg667 frostfree fridge/ freezer. fridge section not cooling, freezer basically ok. could it be a circulating fan? Help!

yes it could be the fan,try completely defrosting it manually then restart it ,if you can then feel airflow it will be a fault in the defrost system, either timer, heater etc,if after defrosting manually you cannot feel airflow it will be the fan or fanblade faulty

Whirlpool Frig

Is that everything in your freezer or just in the fridge. Is this a frostfree model. Often if defrost fails in a frost free model then it is unable to duct cold air to the refrigerator side of things. To fix- turn it off for a day or two.
