Your LG remote has a "Ratio" button. This will size the picture to fit the screen. You may have a cable box connected, in which case the cable box may also have a zoom feature. If this is the case, you will need to locate this feature button on the cable box remote. It may be Format, Zoom, Ratio or some other similar name. Set the cable box zoom to a "Full" or "16:9" setting. Once both (if this applies) are set correctly, you will have a full picture. Be aware, some programs or channels may appear with side pillar boxes... this is normal. Simply adjust the picture size as needed between these channels or programs. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

The adjustment you can make to the TV with the back cover off are VA, VS, SETUP & SETDOWN. These are electrical adjustments for the panel, they do not pertain to picture size. The adjustments you can make in the service menu are related to White Balance and sub-bright, these pertain to the quality of the picture and it's color reproduction. There are no adjustments for picture size or position. I would suggest that you verify the "zoomed" picture problem with another source (ie. DVD player, pattern generator). If the problem also exists there, you either have a part failure or an incorrect part (did you change the main pcb?)

Hi.

If the image is zoomed, check the picture mode. LG TVs have built in zoom options that you can change using the setting from menu.

Use the menu button on the remote, and select picture from menu. In Picture change Picture Mode, so to remove the zoom option.

If you do not have the original remote, you should still have the menu button on the TV panel. After pressing the menu button , do the same operations detailed above to change the picture mode to a not-zoomed mode.

Regards.

Sure I am able to help.

I am not talking about aspect ratio. I am talking about zoom option.

After you remove the back panel you will not find any device , switch or setting to fix anything similar to such a problem.

Behind the back panel you find 7 boards, and the only settings at the back are voltage regulation settings that you will better leave alone unless there is need for djusting high voltage.

If picture is zoomed, it is the zoom settings.

If problem is different , describe the problem instead of giving me the solution.

    Ginko.

Is there any way that i can adjust the zoom on my emerson LC320EM2 with a universal remote?

I have that same tv there is a zoom button on the orignal remote that came with the tv. When I first hooked up a xbox 360 to run media center the zoom on the TV still wasn't getting it right. I then found out there was a zoom on the media center as well. So check to see if what ever you are feeding to the TV has a zoom function.

How to zoom in on info

When TVs first appeared, they had an picture ratio of 4:3, which matched that of most movie screens at the time. Terrified of losing their business, movie studios struck back with "widescreen" films using 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 ratios. When widescreen TVs started appearing, they emulated those same ratios, but many TV shows (and some movies) were still in 4:3---and we were eventually left with a bit of a mess. Canny manufacturers, including LG, have solved the problem by allowing you to adjust the picture ratio on the TV to fit the program you're watching. If it's not set properly, however, your image will look distorted or cut off. A quick bit of troubleshooting can fix the problem easily.

  1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote and scroll down to the "Option" title (it should be second from the bottom ). Then select "Aspect Ratio." You should see a list of ratio options. You simply need to pick the one which fits the show you're watching.
  2. Choose the 4:3 ratio for older movies and TV programs. You should see a pair of bars on the left and right side of the screen. (That's okay: the bars keep the program in the same proportion in which it was filmed.)
  3. Select the 16:9 ratio for widescreen movies and for more recent shows to match their longer width. For some movies, you may see black bars and the top and bottom of the screen. Again, that allows the movie to be shown in the manner it was filmed.
  4. Pick "Set By Program" to automatically switch the LG TV between 4:3 and 16:9 to match whatever show is on at the time.
  5. Select "Horizon" to horizontally expand the image onscreen. It will fill the whole screen---eliminating the black bars to the left and the right---but it may look distorted.
  6. Use the "Zoom 1" option to zoom the image forward. That will eliminate the black bars at the top or the bottom of the screen, though you will cut off the edges of the image.
  7. Pick the "Zoom 2" button to select a midway point between "Horizon" and "Zoom 1." The picture is stretched, but not as much as with "Horizon," and fills the screen, but doesn't cut off as much as "Zoom 1."
  8. Use the "Cinema Zoom" button to enlarge the picture to fit the screen. This option allows you to adjust the proportion to your liking, rather than use the set proportions of the other aspect options.
  9. Exit the menu when you are done and watch your programming normally.

Why did my picture become big so I can not see the sideline information

Press the RATIO button repeatedly to select the desired picture format. You can also adjust Aspect Ratio in the OPTION menu.
  1. Set By Program. Selects the proper picture proportion to match the source’s image. (4:3 → 4:3, 16:9 → 16:9)
  2. 4:3. Choose 4:3 when you want to view a picture with an original 4:3 aspect ratio, with gray bars appearing at both the left and right sides.
  3. 16:9. Choose 16:9 when you want to adjust the picture horizontally, in a linear proportion to fill the entire screen.
  4. Horizon. Choose Horizon when you want to adjust the picture in a non-linear proportion, that is, more enlarged at both sides, to create a panorama view.
  5. Zoom 1. Choose Zoom 1 when you want to view the picture without any alteration. However, the top and bottom portions of the picture will be cropped.
  6. Zoom 2. Choose Zoom 2 when you want the picture to be altered, both horizontally extended and vertically cropped. The picture taking a halfway trade off between alteration and screen coverage.
  7. Cinema Zoom. Choose Cinema Zoom when you want to enlarge the picture in correct proportion. Note: When enlarging or reducing the picture, the image may become distorted. You can adjust the enlarge proportion of Cinema Zoom using D / E button. The adjustment range is 1~16.

Frame is off to the right

Before taking it to a repair shop, let's try two ideas.

Try Picture Reset option,
Press Menu,
select Picture,
select Picture Reset, then press OK.

If that doesn't work, try Reboot/Restore factory settings,
Press Menu,
select Option,
select Factory Reset, then press OK. (if you forgot password, use 7777 )
