Hi thanks for your responce. I have unzipped the files and followed the instructions on the help section. It tells me to start the update manager file and load the software throught that. Then to put the files that I want to put on the sd box into that update manager and press start then turn on the sd box. I do all that but cant get it to transfer.

This may not be the correct adapter.Pin outs may not be correct.
Call the manufacturer and talk to tech support and verify the correct adapter and pin out for this unit.

Ensure that you have extracted the contents of the firmware from the exe self extractor or zip archive. Another possibility is that you probably have the software contents in a folder. It should be in the drive directly as files. For example your USB drive is G and its in G:\update\update.bin
then move it to G;\Update.bin

The G drive thing was just an example. Replace that with the drive letter of the USB drive or any other device you are using to upgrade.

Ok. You have the files on your USB driver right. Just select the update files where ever they are then press Ctrl and X on your keyboard. Now go to the location G and hit ctrl and V. That should do the trick

If it does not auto launch most devices have an option to launch the update process manually. Please let me know the make and model of your STB so that I can guide you with the same.

Not much info about this model in our database. Anyways look under Menu-> Setup and see if it has an option called update. Setup is also given as System or setting is some models. Try it and let me know.

Everything works fine. Just want to know what this abbreviation is: STB Refw Design. STB is Set Top Box..what is the rest? Thanks

The rest is "Reference Design". Only a few companies created the set top box chips/electronics plans. These companies license their designs to the various vendors/builders of STB boxes.

I hope this helps.

(Sometimes you'll see a reference to the STB RDK. This is a set-top box reference design kit. It's pre-packaged set up for the manufacturers.)

You can download the manual here. The factory reset is within. If you don't find it, let us know I will tell you how. Best to look for yourself as your set top is a diff one than mine and I want to be sure.

I bought a samsung TV from Australia and brought the TV in the Philippines. The problem is there is only three coutries listed on the menu,Australia,Nwe Zealand and Singapore.I tried to make a search for...

Sorry to inform you the audio carrier frequency in your country is different from the the other three countries you have mentioned. Don't loose heart you can always purchase a local Set Top Box and connect the AV out ( Yellow/ Red / White ) of the STB to your TV's AV in. There are no carrier frequency issue here. Or even better buy a Digital Set Top box and enjoy good sound and picture !!!

No problem - I hope!!!!\Just need to know if Direct TV is compatible.

DirectTV should be compatible with all TVs. You will need to have a set-top box installed that works with your TV. For example, if you have HDTV and you want HDTV quality TV then you will need a HDTV STB. Otherwise if it is a standard TV then their normal STB will work. You will have no issues.

I just got a WTV1903 TV from a friend. I have cable but the TV seems to only receive up to Chnnel 22. Is there a way to get more channels?

You should have an auto programming selection on your TV. In the setup menu. But Does your cable have a set top box? If so Run cable line into STB and out to the input of your tv and if you use a coaxial cable you should be able to put your tv in CH 3, and use your stb remote to change channels. Hope this helps
