Hi there

Yes it has Batterys insidw on the front let side.
Yes and you can reset this cartridges by taking out and put back in after. but be care-full how you take it apart, and if you handy with things like this you can do what I did but a switch on it to cut battery off and on.

    No color

This shows that the Color Ink Cartridges are empty.
Make sure that the cartridges are not re-filled, remanufactured.
    Make sure they are genuine.
Check for the expiration date on the back of the Cartridges.
If they are empty, refilled, remanufactured, and expired, please replace.

Hp inkjet 2200 cartridge not empty but the printer say expired how do I get around this and bypass the expiration message on the printer and keep using my cartridge, thank you.

There's a button battery on the inside left side close to the front (as you face the printer). Turn off the printer and remove that using long nosed pliers. (For easier access, unclip the support bracket post ( that holds the top cover open) at the bottom. Everytime you turn on the printer, it will reset to Jan 2000.

    Supply expired

You can't. Cartridges have a date bomb built in, they may be expired.

I had same problem, and i solved it.
I opened my hp 8250 and removed it`s battery. It is located on left side of the printer, on the main board. You need to remove plastic covers , and then remove 3 screws holding board. You can move board just enough to get damn battery out of there. Now it works perfect!
I can send you some piccs if you need help.

Top Solution thanks - Take that HP!

Slight amendment as battery is hard to remove:

The battery is accessed by opening top then can be seen on extreme left at front. No need to take it out, slip a strip of plastic like an old credit card under the clip on top of battery to insulate it. Then do a soft reset (# and 6 and power down) with the battery insulated. Power up - Power down, remove insulator power up. Eureka!
