Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDP-65XBR2 65" Rear Projection Television
I have a Sony KDP-65XBR2 that won't turn on. It gives 6 blinks of the standby light. After looking around inside, I've found the Flyback Transformer is cracked and bloated. After some research, I've found that the Flyback is involved in high voltage generation. If I replace that, should the TV go back to functioning? Is it likely that other components have been damaged?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

6 blinks is usually associated with failure of the horizontal
deflection amplifier - which shuts down the high voltage system as well.
The repair requires testing to determine the exact parts that have failed. There are, for example, a few hundred parts and a section of the Jungle IC chip involved. So, repairs could require something as simple as replacing some inexpensive passive components OR as complicated as replacing the jungle chip (very expensive).
most of the time it's the horz. transformer and transistor.

SOURCE: Having Trouble With Flyback
Yes you will need to unsolder the old flyback and solder in the new however its very basic soldering required. Yes the d board will have to be removed just remove the screws and then press the plastic tabs in that secure the board to the plastic frame. Then the HV lead has to be rotated 90 degress and then removed they come out quite roughly. Its best to grab onto theHV lead with insulsted pliers and then rotate and pull with a twisting motion to get it to release.

in this set 3 blinks means lamp cover not set properly but i think that your problem is your 6x red blinks that means you have a problem in the audio section in your set(missing a voltage) or a themal fuse open.

Service Manual of KDP-57WS655 says if TV standby light blinks 9 times then problem is Zero Corssing Detector and you need to replace diodes, D6116 or D6301 which are open on G Board.
