I have a Proheat 2X and had the same problem. I tried the Water Rinse setting and found water came out and was suctioned properly, but on the Light Clean, Normal Clean, and Heavy Traffic settings, the unit failed to do anything. Problem may be with leaving the soap dispenser in-place, which might scum up the tubing.

SO, an alternative to throwing out my unit and buying somethign else was to put one capful of the Bissell soap in the water resevoir and keep the unit on Water Rinse. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY NOW. Don't know if this will help, but at least I didn't have to buy a new unit. Rinse everything after using and there's been no problem.

I started vacuuming and the vacuum motor slowed down, then stopped. I smelled a burning smell. Then I discovered the next day that the bag bottom was wet and falling apart. Sebo X4 model

sucked up liquid goes with the air through the motor
that would cause the motor to burn out
with the current low cost of new vacuums , the repair /replacement of the motor would be close to a new unit
take it to an appliance repair shop and get a proper diagnosis and quote

Loss of suction

do not connect to electricity at this point claim a little work area put a blanket down as you are going to strip it all down into little bits clean and then put it all back,
Take apart power cable unwrap, unclip middle glass cylinder section to empty rubbish out, there should be a filter at the base that you can see now unclip clean put back, empty rubbish out of cylinder clean base and top rubber section and filter section with fine brush, use a wet cloth to wipe clean all black rubber suction connectors put back, at the back there will be a hose connector at the base unplug clean put back and make sure no debris is in any of the connectors and underneath where the floor brush is before you start puting it all back , Hope this helps

My bissell isnt putting down any solution or water

Make sure there is liquid in both the Tank-in-Tank and the SmartMix Bottle and check for spray through the upholstery hose. If the hose does not spray please check the following:

- Remove the belt access door and inspect the pump belt to ensure it is not broken, worn or stretched. You may also check the belt by turning on the power and watching the brush on the bottom of the machine. If the brush rotates the belt is not broken.

- Check for proper placement of the o-ring on the SmartMix Cap Insert (some o-rings are detachable and need to fit over the straw; others are molded to the cap).

- Check for liquid in the base of the machine where the SmartMix Bottle sits (SmartMix Reservoir). If there is no liquid in the reservoir, the neck on the SmartMix Bottle may be undersized, the cap will not make proper contact with the unit and the smart mix bottle will need to be replaced.

- Check for the black or red tank gasket on the SmartMix Bottle Cap and on the bottom of the Tank-in-Tank Assembly. If gasket is lodged in base of unit or has been lost, reattach gasket on auto-load or order new gasket if appropriate.

- Check the valves on the bottoms of the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle to make sure water/solution will come through when the "x" valve is depressed. Bladder or SmartMix bottle may be empty or the valve may be blocked internally.

- Check if the small rounded window tabs on the top edge of the Floor Nozzle Window are locked in their mating slots on the base of the machine and not inadvertently lifting the tank up out of place.

Can I clean the air filters or have to replace them and if so how often? I would also like to know where I can purchase new filters if necessary. Thank you!

Hi Thank you for contacting FixYa. We love to fix things.

You havent mentioned what make of Vacuum you are using.

Assuming this is a Dyson then yes you can wash the filters, let them dry then re-use them. You can wash the sponge type filters using fairly liquid and running under the tap and squeezing out the dirt just like you would with a normal sponge.

The Hepa Filters can be cleaned using a power washer or by placing them in a pillow case and puting them in the washing machine on a low heat low cycle. Ideally you should not need to replace the Hepa filters but i would recommend you do so after 1 year.

It is not sending liquid from upper tank to floor, but it does **** up liquid off the floor if I pour it there?

I tested the flow of liquid through the tubing and distributor by placing a small amount of liquid in the opening under the solution tank and making sure it drained when the solution trigger was pulled. Since the liquid did drain all the way to the brushes, it was apparent that the solution was not leaving the tank. In the center of the opening that receives the solution under the tank (round opening with rubber seal) there is a plastic pin that is supposed to push into the valve on the solution tank and open it sufficiently for liquid to pass through the valve. Since the plastic pin has not changed in length, I assumed that the rubber plunger in the bottom of the solution tank may be the problem. This rubber piece does not seem to be replaceable. Since I am very cheap, I am unwilling to buy a $30.00 solution tank to get a $.25 rubber plunger for this valve. My solution was to make the plastic pin a little bit longer. I did this by drilling a very tiny hole in the top of the pin and installing a very small screw which allows me to adjust the distance that the pin pushes up into the valve on the tank. I adjusted the screw almost all the way down and turned it up a little at a time until liquid once again flowed to the brushes. I have only used the machine once since this modification but it seems to dispense liquid very well now.

A word of warning, if you break or damage the pin in the process of this modification, the control valve assembly will not work and it does not appear to be available as a replacement part. If you are not confident in your ability to make the modification, then a $30.00 solution tank is cheaper than a new machine.

My Hoover Windtunel's agitator is not spinning, the v belt is new but seems loose somehow. HelP!!!

change the other belt as well even if it isnt broken, the v belt will look loose but it isnt there is a tension pulley that comes down on it when the handle is released. if that doenst do it the tension pulley itself could be broken. also check the rug floor knob if its over even a little bit it could stop the brush from turning.

I have no idea how to put the belt back on

Take the nozzle of, remove the brush roll, put the a new belt over the brush roll, re-install and put the bottom plate on, making sure that the belt is in the middle of the brush roll. Turn the big knob on the front until it locks, when it grabs the belt it will be hard to turn. Re-install the nozzle on the machine and lock it down. Turn the knob again all of the way, this will release the belt unto the pulley.

Sucking up liquid

check the tank lid. It is very common for people to install the lid and not engage the front tabs that hold the lid in place at the front. The lid must be fully down on the tank for suction to get to the floor. Try to lift the front of the lid. If it comes up slightly, then it is not properly attached. Also, make sure that the removable duct is in place. You remove it to use the hose and replace it to go back to floor.
