Sounds like the nozzle is clogged or malfunctioning causing to much fuel to be burned thus giving off too much smoke. 1st thing is to pull off the top cover held down by 8 or so 5/16 bolts once removed you will see the nozzle you may be able to take it off and clean it. but i dont think there that expensive. Also maybe replace the fuel filter if applicable, you will see it inline before the nozzle. good luck

Qmark muh won't shut off

I believe these models have a thermal switch on or near the heating element that normally runs the fan until the element has cooled. Similar to your home furnace. If the fan never shuts off this switch is likely bad. IF it takes a long time to shut off then it may be out of calibration. In either case they are non repairable parts and have to be replaced. If the heater is in a high spot resulting in a high ambient temperature it may take a while for the fan to shut down.

Bought kerosene heater in middle of November and seem to have a wick issue. It will not burn properly and makes me wonder if wick was place in upside down. Can I fix it myself?

Trust me you can not install a wick upside down, the bottom of a wick is like an old mop. It has loose wove string and knots, it's job is to **** up fuel. Things to remember about wicks are, they need cleaned some times, I use an old tooth brush and gently brush the wick with it set down low so it does not get damaged. A wick must also sit and soak for at least a half hour before attempting to light it. A good practice to get in to is about every fourth tank of fuel let the heater burn out, this also cleans out the wick and burns off all of the impurities from dirty fuel. Yes you can check your wick but the entire heater does have to be tore down and you should do it only with an empty tank of fuel. This takes time , patience, and a little mechanical know how. When burning out a heater please remove it from your house and let it burn the smell is terrible, if you do this in your house it will smell like a semi truck is running in it.

QMark MUH-35 Heater (elec. garage heater) how to reset the Thermo. runs all the time, garage is warm.

If you cannot regulate the heater at all and the unit runs all the time no matter what you do, the thermostat or fan switch may be faulty and require replacement.

Here's a web site for this heater from which you may be able to obtain parts and/or further information:

no, you need to rewire the motor.
the heater elements may not let you do that, since it is rated for 480v.

Air fuel mixture screw adjustment, forced air kerosene heater

Most ready heaters have a fuel pressure setting on the back of the heater near the fan. There should be two small plastic covers, looking directly at the back, the one on the left can be removed and a pressure gauge installed. The one on the right is slotted for adjustment of pressure. I think the correct pressure for that model is 3.0 lbs.
