Question about Dacor Preference RSD30 Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

I have a dacor rsd30r which beeps and flashes F1

We have turned the breaker off until ready for use but there has to be an easier solution - because it doesn't do it when the oven is on and everything else works great.

I saw someone else posted the sme question previously online for what appears to be exactly the same problem.

I am not sure, but I would set my clock to the correct time. Then I would insure that all the timers are set to not come on or shut off at a particular time. In other words, make sure everything is set to OFF. NO TIMERS, NO ALARMS, NO ANYTHING! I had a similar thing with my stove but when I turned everything off and made sure nothing was set to come on with a timer, and all alarms were off, including your minute minder, then that should take care of it.

F1 error relay circuit failure

Hi This is the Alarm system watchdog circuit :

The system has detected a failure in the internal watchdog element , relay circuits and will atcivate a cancel feature. F1 will be displayed in the time digets and will beep until the cancel button or another funtion is selected. An F1 failure could be detected in cook or time of day mode. With an F1 failure the ERC is picking up a comand to supply heat without receiving an input from the membrain. The watchdog circuit is designed to prevent this.
If the beep continues after pressing cancel check the main control ERC board.

Dacor oven beeps and shows F1 code

function is selected. An F1 failure could be detected in cook or time of day mode. With an F1 failure

Timer tone goes off with F1 display

Hi arl3933,

The "F1" error code description is a System Watchdog Circuit. Please press "CANCEL", if beeping continues after 30 seconds, please check the main control board(ERC). Here are basic test that will help you to determine if the ERC or touchpad is defective.

1. Unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker.

2. Gain access inside the control panel.

3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.

4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.

5. Turn the power back on.

6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the code comes back.

7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a RSD30R Dacor range. I was given the range and no manual. 1. Can I get a manual on line? 2. When the Range was pluged up in keeps giving a beeping sound and flashing F1 HELP, I am lost!

Short of replacing the board, try to reboot it:
turn the breaker OFF and keep it OFF for at least 15+ min
(30 sec reboot does not work with this animal)

good luck: i hope you've fixed it long ago...

PCS 130 Keypad

Dacor probably won't cover anything. F1 is either the touch pad or ERC (clock). If it stops beeping when the touch pad is uplugged from the ERC then the touch pad is the problem if not it is the ERC. Call Dacor Customer service to get a price on the parts and to voice your displeasure.
