Question about Shop Vac 584-06-00 Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

1 Answer

Automatic pump I understand the concept. What is wierd is the place to hook up the waterhose is up high and on the outside of the Shopvac itself. Is there another spot to actually hook up the hose inside the shopvac? I can't locate my manual. I do see a hole in the bottom of the filter but there is not an actual place to screw something in there? Im I just being stupid?

Well that does sound strange but in theory if you hook up the water hose even up high when the water fills the reservoir it should run out while your vacuuming give it a shot and when you wet vac you have to take the filter out whats the brand well see if we can find you a manuel and are you saying the place where you hook the hose doesnt have a hole to the inside most ive seen are on the bottom

Mod.#J150A shopvac won't turn on

These units are not high quality. There are problems with the motors and the switches, you can check these things or just get another one. If you get another one, get a different brand.

The automatic drain hose is hooked up to the back of the unit, but when the bucket is full, the automatic pump does not work. The automatic pump should come on and empty the bucket, but it does not come...

Any automatic pumps operate off a swith that is turned on when the water rises. They normally have some type of ball lift, that will raise the switch when water is high and then drops with the water and shuts the pumps off. It sounds like yours is stuck and not activating the pump.

Do you need a special filter for wet application

Yes. The following site shows the filters and which is used for what. Due to potential motor damage, I wouldn't use it without the proper filter.
