Although you did not mention the model number, I assume that you have an XLR series 'classic' chaver. If this is correct, you will first need to remove the foil heads and cutter and spring. Then you will need to remove the metal 'C' clip on each side near the top. You can pry off with a small flat screwdriver. Then pull the case apart a bit at the top. This will open a space at the bottom so you can remove the metal clip at the bottom. Once the bottom clip is removed you can take the back cover off. You will then be able to see the batteries.
Depending on which version of this model you have, there can be different sizes of batteries inside. You will find appropriate batteries at See links below. You will need to compare the size of your batteries to the ones linked below to pick the correct type

Batteries are soldered in for most models.

Reassemble in reverse order.

If you can not do this repair yourself, can do it for you. See link below

An easier thing to do would be to purchase a factory refurbished MS-5200 from See link below. It is the same shaver as the MS-5500 but does not come with the clean/charge base.

The battery on my Remington MB70 trimmer is no longer hold a charge. Can the battery be changed to perhaps an Li-ion variety?

The charging system in your trimmer is not designed for lithium ion batteries. Installing a lithium ion battery could cause fire and/or personal injury. You should always use the same type battery that came in the shaver originally

My remington ta 4570 suddenly won't charge or even run off the power. the light won't even come on. I know its an older model, but I don't use it that often. any ideas? Thanks

When batteries go completely bad, the shaver will stop working altogether. Most likely, you will just need to change the batteries. But you should open the shaver and inspect it first to make sure there is not a lot of corrosion or any burnt spots on the circuit board.
You will find batteries at See link below. You will need two batteries.
