Question about HP DeskJet 960c InkJet Printer

My HP Deskjet 960c was out of black ink I replaced the cartridge and now the ink light is blinking and will not print.

Check if you replaced it with the correct ink cartridge or return to supplier for a replacement.(Also ask your supplier to test it)

Ink light is on. which cartridge needs to be replaced


The printer's indicator lights tell you when to obtain a replacement ink cartridge by flashing when ink is low, and when to replace an empty ink cartridge by remaining on when ink is depleted. The LCD panel also displays INK LOW or INK OUT.
Even if only one ink cartridge is empty, the printer cannot continue to print.

I have replaced black ink on a hp deskjet 960c and the red light keeps flashing


Hi,

I see you replaced the Black in on your HP printer but the light keeps on blinking still.

Make sure that you remove the silicon film from the ink cartridge before installing in the printer, if that file is not removed the contact to the printers ink will not detect the ink cartridge at all.

Also try to remove all the ink cartridges and install all of them at the same time , this is to reset the printer from detecting all the printer ink cartridges.

I put new print cartridges in my 960c printer. They are hp 78 for color and 45 for black and white. my orange ink light will not stop blinking. It is not printing


I have an HP DeskJet 1220C that has been working fine for two years now. All of a sudden it can only print in pink and black. It is driving me crazy. I have tried the following without any success:

1. Replaced the cartridges twice
2. Aligned and cleaned the cartridge from the
computer
3. Soaked the cartridge head in hot water,
and made sure that all three colors will bleed
out of the head
4. Cleaned the cartridge contacts with an eraser
5. Cleaned the cartridge contacts on the printer
with a brush

Is there a cure, or is it time for a new printer?

The low ink indicator light on a deskjet 960c is on. I have replaced the ink cartridge, but the light is still on and it will not print.



I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Simple answer, Yes.
Some machines you can even by black ink cartridges to go into the color slots.

Or just Larger black ink cartridges.

HP deskjet 960c - refilled color ink at Walgreens, now ink light is blinking and won't print. HELP! I have taken the cartridges out and put them back in, unplugged it, cleaned the brass colored sensors and...


First make sure there is no blue tape over the print head (the coppery brown strip is the electronics - don't pull this part off). If this wasn't the problem then the electronics on your cartridge are not functioning properly. There is no way to fix the electronics and you should get your money back from Walgreens. I own a Cartridge World store and we always make sure the electronics are functioning before we sell a cartridge. The HP 78s are very sensitive and sometimes do not work even after all our efforts. The Amber light is designated as the "Ink Error" light. With regards to a 960C Hewlett Packard or almost any inkjet printer, the Amber light is indicating that one of the Ink Cartridges (Tri-Color/Black) is empty, defective, unrecognizable, or just simply needs to be changed. The procedure is; lift up the front cover, look at the Black Ink Cartridge, and examine the Ink Level Window on the Cartridge, located at the center of the Cartridge. If the square window appears to be a solid Green then that means the cartridge is completely full. If it is Half Green/Half Black then it is indicating that the cartridge is half way full, and if the square window is completely Black, then the cartridge is completely empty. Also, remove and examine the Tri-Color Cartridge. If the Tri-Color Cartridge feels very light or if the Tri Colors on the bottom of the Cartridge appear to be discolored i.e. All Magenta, All Cyan, or All Yellow, then the Cartridge should immediately be changed. After replacing the Black or Tri-Color Cartridge, your printers Green Power Light will flash and allow you to continue your print job

You can also try:
Clean the cartridge and carriage contacts with a cotton swab moistened with water. If you have refilled the cartridges don't assume that they will still work. If cleaning doesn't help you may have a failed cartridge even if it is not refilled.
If you are getting a grinding noise, clean the carriage rod with alcohol and lubricate it with a few drops of Tri-Flow, available in 2 oz. squeeze bottles at cycle shops.

You say it stopped working mid-print... possible paper jam? Ink cartridge not clicked in all the way? (they should all line up evenly across the tops).
In control panel->printers and faxes, right click on Canoni960 and choose properties. In maintenance tab try to do nozzle check and print head alignment. In lower right corner is status monitor, click to see if any useful information in there.

Will not print at all


You can try restoring the printer to factory settings..and try agian it has worked most of the times for me..Let the catridge be in the printer when you do this..
