My sewing machine will not make decorative stitches?

Is it an embroidery only machine. Typically embroidery is done with the needle in a fixed position while the hoop is moved around.

Have a Husqvarna model 320 Electronic sewing machine. . I want to darn using the 3 step zig zag stitch, but unclear about lenth and width of stitches setting,

Set the stitch width as wide as it will go. Set the stitch length to a low number so the stitches do not overlap each other but lay close to each other.

My Husqvarna Prisma 990 does not stitch. I've re-threaded, checked the tensions, replaced the needle, checked the feed switch, and changed the bobbin. The machine runs and acts like it is stitching, BUT...

check the needle /hook timing
the hook should be at the needle just above the eye of the needle when the needle is fully down
take it to a service centre for adjustment and service.

How do I choose stitch 2:07 for darning on the Emerald 183 Husqvarna Viking machine

Press the Menu button below the + for stitch length adjustment to rotate through the stitch menus. When you see 2 LEDs, you should be on the correct menu. Then press button 7 in the stitch selection area. Confirm this by checking the stitch selection on the display. (Make sure that you have the C foot in place.)

I hope this helps.

How to adjust tension for thick fabrics

Thick fabrics do not need to have a tension adjustment. The stitches will form just as nicely as on finer fabrics as long as the stitch was properly calibrated to start with.

If the sewing machine has a "pressure" adjustment, increase the pressure until the fabric is easily transported (moves easily under the presser foot).

The pressure adjustment is generally located on top of the machine right above the needle shaft. Some machine do not have this option.

What challenges are you encountering while sewing on heavy fabrics? Maybe I can be of more help with this information.

Husqvarna 2000 1974, uneven stitches

Take out the bobbin case, remove the bobbin. Using laquer thinner on a Q-tip or a thin rag, clean the center "hole" of the bobbin case. Then look at the post in the machine that the bobbin slides onto. Is there thread wrapped at the back of the post? Also clean the post with your cleaner. Once the post and the hole are clean, put a little sewing machine oil on your finger and wipe the post with it and the chattering noise of your bobbin will be gone.

Take the thread off the top of your machine, put in a new needle.
Turn your top tension to Zero and lift the presser foot, this will open the tension discs of your machine. Using a needle, scrape or clean the area between the discs. (Your needle also has a flat spot on the top of the needle, that faces the rear of your machine.) Also look for any rough edges in the hole of your presser foot or the hole in your needle plate. If there are any rough edges in the metal areas that your needle goes through, you would have poor stitching. Don't forget to put your tension dial back on the red dot before you sew.

2 things to check first:

1. Make sure the feed dog "switch" is in the correct position. It is located under the free arm, directly under the needle plate area.
2. Make sure your stitch length knob is in a position OUTSIDE of the orange reverse stitch positions.
