Question about SuperMicro X7DAL-E Motherboard

1 Answer

After updating drivers, all of a sudden the Intel Pro 1000 network adapter is recognized but has some sort of problem that renders it unusable.

Unfortunately, that was the first thing I initially tried and it doesn't help solve the issue. After several futile attempts at installing previous drivers, I upgraded the system from WinXP-64 to Windows7 64-bit in a futile effort that Windows7 would handle the issue more robustly. However, it still doesn't work.

The network driver has an issue. Roll back the driver with Device Manager (Right click 'My Computer', select properties - Hardware)
When you select the network device driver properties, a box is presented to rollback the driver.

You should have only 1 wireless adapter, the other 1 is the ethernet adapter. If you experience low signal strength even after updating the drivers, you need to customize wireless settings on the router.
You need to change the wireless mode to "802.11b and 802.11g" or "802.11g", whatever you have in your router. If this is the same with all wireless networks, wherever you go, then its an issue with the adapter, you should get a replacement.
