The Ariens 935 yard tractor has not been used for 3 years. I charged the battery. It cranks now but does not start. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Is the battery actually fully charged? A dead cell will kill any power. Try another battery.

Why won't my Ariens 46 in 20 hp BS eng. turn over when key is turned to start?

It could be several things. First see if the safety switches work One switch should be under the seat. The second could be a bad solenoid which will not allow the current to go through the wire. Thirdly the battery connector could have a break in it. Electrical problems can be tricky to track down.

I have an Ariens 46"Hydro Model 936053. Tractor is 2 years old and thought I just had a dead battery.. After charging, I began mowing, after about 15 minutes the Blades stopped turning while still...

First: check the battery because if it was dead then it might not be any good... Then after replacing said battery, hook a volt meter up to your battery and it should read over 13.2 and might even climb up to 14+. Anything over 15.5 or so will cook your battery. Your engine died because the safety solenoid in the bottom of the carb lost voltage... but I am only supplying what I would do in this situation by using your description.

The mower is about 5 years old. The batterY is two years OLD and the tractor will start with a jumper battery box. When I try to crank the engine, the starter sounds like its binding but after a few...

Not necessarily the battery can be weak with a small internal failure and can cause the issue of shorting out and not staying charged. This is very common on small batteries for these mowers. The replacement batteries you get at the hardware stores are the worst culprits for going bad after just a year or 2. The main battery that comes with the tractor are usually much stouter than the replacements. Before we tear intot he charging system I would suggest a new battery or hook up a temporary car battery if you have one to see if the guage acts up, or if you have a volt ohm meter test the charging system by reading the battery as it is running. It should be between 13 and 14 volts if it is worrking correct. You can also use the old stanby tried and tested method of pulling the positve cable off the battery after the mower has been started and see if it stays running. This will give us a base to proceed from. Let me know what you have tried and what you find.

Ariens Yard Tractor 935 Series - initially drives, then stops moving as it gets warm

Is it a hydrostatic tranmission? If so, sounds like the fluid might be old or not the right viscosity. Recommend changing the trans fluid, and use recommended viscosity of fluid.
