Question about Canon Sure Shot Z155 Caption 35mm Point and Shoot Camera

1 Answer

I just loaded the film - it is on shot 1. After I turned the power on the letter H comes on where the number 1 was written and keeps flashing - I cannot take the photo. I repeat and the same happens. Please advise.

The error message H indicates that the shutter door is not functional usually slightly kinked or broken. I am so sorry to tell you that you have to ship it to canon for repairs. Get a quote first before doing this as shutter repair/replacement is not a cost-effective procedure.

Let me know if you need more info.

Film rewinds when loaded

Align film leader at mark, then close the camera back for prewind loading. Film rewinds as each shot is exposed. Built-in motor for automatic winding/rewinding. Film advance: Automatic. Single-frame and continuous (1 fps). Automatically rewinds film leader into cartridge when designated number of frames have been exposed (midroll rewind available).

How to load film

http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/compact_film/Sure_Shot_Z135_manual.pdf
The link above will take you to a .PDF that is an owners manual for the Canon Sure Shot Z135
On page 14 it lists how to load film into the camera.

1. Slide the back cover downwards
2. Insert the film
- Make sure the film is positioned above the film guide
3. Pull the film tip across until it reaches the film tip marker
- Make sure the film is flat
4. Close the back cover
5. Turn the dial to (auto)
(Turn the power on)
the camera will automatically advance the film to the first frame.
6. "1" should be displayed on the frame counter

If this show zero there has been an issue, make sure you are using the proper film for the camera

Battery symbol keeps flashing and wont stop when fresh ones inserted.

This can happen when the flash has shot at full power and under exposure has occurred. If that does not help call Nikon Film 1-800-645-6687.

After develop the pictures i found that some images are completely blank and the images are cut into half. Half develop and half not. what the cause of it?? thanks

Might be film coming loose when inserting in loading spool and skipping when winding forward after making a shot. Could try bending first 1/2" of film tongue before inserting in slot in windup spool so that it won't slip out and be sure film sprocket holes are engaged with film transport sprockets and a bit under tension when loading film before closing camera cover. Your 'half-frame' problem might be that you are shooting at a 'flash' shutter setting of 1/60 when not using flash.

How do i increase or decrease my power on my metz 60-ct?

The dial on the top does nothing to the flash. It's just a guide, like a simple ruler.

Example:
You just set your ASA/ISO (Yellow Line) to Orange DIN/ASA Number to match your camera's ASA/ISO.
Then just read those Scale of F Stops to outside to get FT/M (Feet or Meter).

The true meter from flash is on Handle of flash:
Set Orange Horizontal Line to ASA/ISO Number to match camera.
Set Left Slider, push up & down, to the F Stop that you wanted to shoot.
You have 6 Auto Sensor F Stops
1 for M (Motordrive)
1 for W (Winder)

Hope they are helpful on all photographers using Metz 60CT-1 Flash.

Camera goes into Shut Down Mode & Flashes the Letter H

Hey sonax,
This H error message means either the film is loaded incorrectly, or there is an internal malfunction in the camera. To determine if the film is loaded incorrectly you should take the film and the batteries out of the camera then reinstall the batteries and try taking a picture without film in the camera. If the camera allows it then the film was loaded incorrectly and I would refer to the camera manual for directions on how to load the film correctly. If the H error message persists then there is most likely an internal malfunction and I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Canon Sure Shot 105 ZOOM ~TOTALLY LOST ~need any instructions I can get.

The flashing H means hat the camera has detected a hardware fault on starting up. It can also mean that the film has mis-loaded. Try removing the film & then the battery to reset it. Put the battery back & switch on. If it's still doing it then I'm afraid it's got the 'flashing "H" of Doom'. Although this is repairable, it's usually not economically viable.

Instructions

There are two conditions under which a blinking "H" will appear in the
LCD panel: (1) when the film has been loaded incorrectly or (2) when the
camera's self-test process detects an internal malfunction. If a
blinking "H" indication appears, perform the following operations in
attempt to resolve the situation:

1. Rewind and remove the film using the rewind button, then remove the
battery to clear the memory.

2. Clean the contacts at the base of the battery compartment with a
clean pencil eraser to ensure proper contact between the camera and
battery.

3. Replace the battery, power the camera back up1.gif and operate it as if
it had film loaded, pressing the shutter release.
