Try a new muffler, the engine needs to get rid of fuel as well as it takes it in.

Check the idle mixture. Sounds to me like it is too lean.

Motorcycle starts on full choke but will not run even given more fuel even if the choke is turned off after warm up

Hi, Edward and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Float needle and seat sticking.
5. Float level too low.
6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
10. Slow fuel jet clogged.
11. Faulty fuel pump.

My 1998 Suzuki gsx 600 only starts ion full choke and won't stay running off of choke unless I run it about 20 min. Even then it dies off of choke what could be the issue?

What you have here is a fuel to air ratio issue. You are getting to much air to the engine and that is causing it to die when the choke is off. There is a screw that you can adjust for the air mixture, and this may take a little time to correct as it is a trial and error thing. All bikes are going to be a little different, even if they are manufactured by the same company. I hope that this information was useful as that is my goal.

The hot side is running way too lean. Have your carbs synchronized may help. Try draining the bowls. Good luck.

How do I start rental model 96.

Place the saw on full choke with the switch on. Pull the rope until it fires. Place the saw on half choke, and pull again, and it will start running. Half choke should release as soon as you hit the trigger.

Could I please have the basic start procudure for the poulan 2375 Borrowed from a friend. won't completely turn over

1) Have fuel tank full of a mixture of 50:1 gasoline and 2 cylce oil.

2) Have bar chain oil tank full.

3) Push down choke to full

4) Pull over engine 2 times.

5) Push choke off

6) Pull over engine. If it does not start you may have flooded engine ect.
Please let me know.

Starts and idles will not run above idle unless choked. Have cleaned carb multiple times new fuel filter new air cleaner and cleaned exhaust screen new plug. Maybe a collapsing fuel line?

Hi,
Have you tried adjusting the carb? There should be two screws on the carb (hi & Low) turn the hi screw completely until it stops and then start the unit. Let it warm up and then begin to back the screw out until it starts to run smoothly but strong. Once you have it running then put it in full run position (choke) and you should be good.
Good luck!

Start at 1.5 CCW form lightly seated then tune for performance like this:
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.

I think your starting procedure may be the cause of flooding. Flooded is the #1 cause of hard starts in 2-cycle engines. Read carefully the recommended start in your manual. most miss the second note. It should be similar to this (read 3, read it again):
Warm start in the manual says 1/2 choke BS. Close choke, (sets fast idle) open choke, pull rope.
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4).
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release.
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts (usually first pull).
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) – Do not pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts (usually first pull).
If you still have trouble reply as you did before. I will get back to you. HTH
Lou

Will only run in full choke mode

Try a fuel additive to clean the system, also if the airfilter is dirty or damp, this can cause problems.
You may even have a rust problem in the barrels.
Or even the engine oil may have thickened causing a resistance in the crank bearings, so flush the engines oil ways if other solutions don't work.
