The green wire with yellow stripe goes to ground anywhere on the chassis. And the black cable should be keyed so that you can only hook it up in one place.

Hi I have a samsung plasma PN50C550G1F I havve right now 2 vertical lines that seem to change color with the background picture. Tv powers up fine sound work perfect.

Vertical lines on a plasma TV are caused by either a failing x-buffer board or a loose connection at the flex cable between the panel and the buffer board. Sometimes just removing the flex cable, cleaning it, snd reinstalling it will fix it.

Sharp LC-32D40U purchased 8/2006 has sound but no picture most of the time. Cable people certified the cable service as satisfactory. Can it be repaired?

Hello,
Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.
The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.
Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.
if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced. Hoping that this will help to solve the problem....

Absolutely no power on my Toshiba flatscreen lcd led tv. In a lighting storm we unplugged all of the appliances. This tv still was damaged because it was connected to the cable box via a hdmi cable. Not a...

If the HDMI cable was the only connection, then the high voltage pulse would have had to go through one or more of the video wires in the cable, through the video board, and back out the HDMI cable shielding. What troubles me is you should see the unit come up to standby and refuse to power on. That suggests there was something else connected besides the HDMI cable or the base made a decent ground. At least the panel is worth $150 or so (it is highly unlikely it was damaged).

No power tv dead

Your Main Board, Power Board, T-Control Board are suspected problems at this time. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, the unit should power down by itself after you have powered it on. If it does not, then do not be concerned. Let me know if the problem continues. The first link below will bring you directly to the troubleshooting guide if you need to continue forward with the same error. Check to make sure there are NO OTHER uneeded radios, system nearby. these systems, when powered on, will cause electromagnetic interference and prevent more than just severe tv interference SURGE PROTECTOR Surge protectors account for more than 75 percent of electric faults to stereo equipment.

The screen lost horizontal then vertical lines , the screen went black. the red light is blinking six times. there is nothing now.

Hello,

All plasma an LCD ts have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken....
Also note that the power of the television could be at fault in this regards you have to follow
the instruction that i will provide below

Your power supply board is not yet dead, you must have knowledge on basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this help in solving the problem....

RE: Dell W4201C

Hi,

a few things, on checking the ground, are you sure you have a good connection (try scratching or pushing harder with your probe tips) to ensure that is 0v they should all be reference gnd which is 0v

did you know that there are two (2) power supplies? This set has a power and sub power supply, did you check both?

I tried to look at your posted pic, but that site blocked your image (no hotlinks allowed)
