It did not come with the unit and I can't find anywhere on your site that has it or a disk for my pc. I just bought this one and would like to use it with my Dell
The cable, an optional accessory, is available from www.uniden.com
More information regarding the cable and use of your scanner with a PC, can be found in the scanner operating manual which can be downloaded/printed here:

You have to "close session" on the disk before it will play anywhere else but the camera. Same goes for a CD or DVD you make on your PC. It will play on your PC ok but not on any other player
There is no on/off switch cable as far as I know. There is a short wire that goes from the switch to the motherboard, but you won't find them anywhere--you'd probably have to make one.
Search online for a professional "data recovery service".
For a significant fee, they can repair your disk-drive,
just long-enough to copy your files to a new disk-drive.
If it still has a valid WARRANTY, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.
If the warranty has expired, then open the case, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "compatible" disk-drive, connect it, and thus "revive" your external storage device.
Your best option is to go to the Sony web site and go to thier tech support option and put your model type in, Most PC suppliers have a option to download the right drivers for thier models. You May need to put your serial number in. Also the system recovery you did was not done with the recovery disk designed for that model as the correct disk has the correct drivers built into the disk for you system. You could buy the right build disk from sony aswell. There is a third option and that is to go to the web site and look at the spec for that model and this usually goes through the video and audio options and chip sets used on the unit.
I had the same problem and could not find an answer anywhere. So here's what I figured out. The small wires running from top to bottom just inside the cover are your problem. Not the metal grid with plates that you can remove. The buzzing sound you heard is the resistance one or more of the wires is causing. The resisitance tells the pc board that your grid must be wet and therefore the unit goes into drying mode. I replaced my small wires and my unit is working better than ever. The wire is .005 diameter( important so that you keep the same resistance flowing to the pc board) and can be purchased at any good suppy house. I have since repaired another unit with an even simplier fix. I took the unit into a dark room and then turned it on. Watching the grid I could see the wire arching that was causing the resistance. Unplugged the unit, turned it over and with a flat head screw driver pushed the wire off its base connedtion. Turned the unit right side up and removed the wire from its top support. The unit works fine without the troubled wire. Hope this helps.
Pull off cover. Locate the same hd as the one you are replacing. Label the wires and how they connect into the hd. Green tabs usually need to be depressed and hd should come out or check for screws holding it in. Afterwards turn on pc if it boots up you should be fine if not you will need to install an operating systems. like windows xp or vista.
You will have to order another one from e-machines unless there is a partition on the harddrive holding yur install files. You can also buy a copy of the operating system you wish to install, install it, then go to eMachine's web site and download the hardware drivers and install them.
