Question about HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC Desktop

Memory upgrade not recognized

I just Installed a memory upgrade to 2 pieces of 2GB PC2 5300 SODIMM and the computer is running fine but it still only shows 2GB of available memory. I went into the set up at start up and it was only recognizing one of the cards so I hit F5 and then it was picking up both of them but when windows loads up it still only shows having access to 2046KB.

Your motherboard does support 4gigs of ram but its not supporting may be because your other slot is defective try interchanging the memory i.e; remove one of the ram and run your pc then put the ram on other slot. this will verify if the slot is working or not.

I installed new memory - went from 2 - 2GB SODIMMS to 1 - 2 SODIMM and 1 - 4GB SODIMM on my satellite l505d-s5965. It read 6GB total but only 3.5 GB was usable. I updated mu BIOS, but it was the same...

Updating of the bios has failed and the computer needs to be sent to a service facility for repair.

The memory 3.5GB is NORMAL, you need a 64Bit version of windows to use more than that.

unless a computer comes with 4GB or more, it will have a 32bit version that supports up to only 3.5GB or around that. a 64bit version of vista would need to be installed.

but since your laptop is now unusable due to a failed update, you must send it to repair.

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

Can the Acer Aspire 5102 WLMi handle more than 2GB of RAM? The specifications say up to 2GB.

It handles up to 2 x 2GB soDIMM modules. However, available memory will vary with operating systems; Windows 32bit supports 2GB max. for Applications out of the box and can be tweaked to 3GB.
You'll need a 64bit operating system to use more of the installed memory.

Problem while upgrading my RAM

some systems require matching pairs, so since you are using mismatched, it may only recognize 1 GB of the 2gb module

Can I upgrade memory to only one gb of memory or install 2 512 mb on a toshiba satellite m35x series

http://www.shopping.com/xPF-Toshiba-Toshiba-Satellite-Notebook-PC-M35X-S114

Looking at the specs, the max is 2gb for your Toshiba. According to this website, its only a 256mb ddr sdram. So my guess is you only have 1 slot for the ram. I'd go with a 2gb ram if you can afford it, 1gb just don't cut it in todays technology.

I believe its the PC2700 model, so find a 1gb or 2gb PC2700 @ 333mhz and you should be set.

Problem with upgrading my acer extensa 5620z memory to 4GB

Hi there.
I recommend you get another stick of SODIMM to replace what seems to be the faulty stick.
If you are using XP or Vista X86 (32bit) then the system will only recognize 2.8 - 3GB of memory, only 64bit operating systems recognize the full 4GB.

Good luck ad thanks for using FixYa!!

My Dell C600 won't recognize the 2 new 256 mb sticks of RAM

i think you need a same brand of 256 for it to work? and when you buy something for your computer make sure that the one you both is the same brand or code with your 128 for example you have 128 ddr2 sdram so you can only upgrade it with 256 ddr sdran or 512mb,1gb,2gb ddr sdram.

Not enough memory

  • your Toshiba Satellite M35X-S311 has the following memory configuration
  • Configured with 512MB
  • The maximum memory you can have is 2048MB (Max),
  • 2 memory slots using 1024MB PC2700 DDR333 SDRAM 2.5V SODIMM Memory modules (Both slots may be occupied). Go to a store and request for this memory specification and you will have 2GB of memory for all the programs you have listed here. Good Luck!

Reg ram upgradation

Each memory slot on the C555NR can support a maximum of 1GB of RAM. There are actually 2 slots, but only one is easily accessible to you. By upgrading both the primary and secondary DIMMs, you could achieve a total of 2GB of memory but you would have to remove the 512mb chip that is already installed and replace it with 1GB (+1GB in the expansion slot as well.)

If you don't plan on taking the computer to a professional to be serviced, you will probably only want to upgrade the memory in the secondary slot located under the memory cover on the underside of the computer. It can handle a 1GB SODIMM.

FYI the memory is:
200 Pin DDR2-533 PC2-4200 SODIMM

Good luck!
