Question about GE DBSR453EBWW Electric Dryer
I have a Kenmore model#417.97042700 and it is not drying no heat . I vacumed the inside and removed build up and I have also removed the duct that connects to the dryer and the wall and cleaned that out. The dryer does sit on a pedelster. what can the problem be? and how can I fix this myself and save $$$.
If it is running and not heating at all it is one of three things. I will list in order of possibility
- Power is not complete. The dryer needs 240 volts to heat and only 120 volts for the motor to run. Check the circuit breaker for one side being tripped by turning it off then back on again fully.
- Thermal cut off fuse, there is a temperature controlled fuse that usually trips when the air flow is restricted, usually a dirty vent. The cut off can be checked with an ohm meter
- Heat element, this can open up electrically and can be checked with an ohm meter.
