Question about Samsung HC-P4241W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

The picture on my screen has a yellowish tinge. Tried adjusting the colours manually, but nothing seems to fix it. Do the bulbs needs to be replaced? Is this something we could fix ourselves?

no, we do not smoke. the yellow tinge is definately the colour on the screen-the images are also slightly blurry

  • kspina Apr 29, 2010

yes, the yellow is present of all sources, but no there aren't any lines at all-the picture just seems a bit cloudy. the audio is ok.
if it is colour tube-any estimation on how much it would be to fix?

Circular yellowish tinge projected on screen. Outer edges white.

First, check your cables on the input side. If your using RGB, it could be a bad cable, If your using DVI or HDMI, it's more than likely the convergence chip and will have to be serviced. Try a DVD player as a source connected directly to the unit with a new cable; ie. HDMI, DVI, or component and check the picture. If it's still the same, it definately needs serviced. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you further. Hope this helps.

If you are not getting good color picture then I would advise to perform white balance adjustments in service data with help of concern service manual.
This kind of adjustments required service data handling tools, reference color charts, proper and up to date service manual etc.
Please contact nearest Sony service center for proper fix.

Pink tinge

try reset to factory defaults, it is in the menu somewhere if it does not help look closely on the lens if there is any damage, are you using any filters ? if all fails then you have faulty image sensor, Nikon will replace it free of charge even out of warranty.
