Printer software I downloaded a printer driver from the hp website but when I tried to install it, my computer requested additional software to finish installing with. I don't have the original disk that was supplied with the printer. Can I download the software I need to run it?

Make sure you have the latest software package from HP.

-Go to the HP support website for that model.
-Click Software & Driver Downloads.
-Select OS.
-Click 'Driver - Product Installation Software'.
-Click 'HP OfficeJet & PSC Full Feature Software and Drivers'.
-Click the Download button.

When finished downloading, run the file you just downloaded to install the newest version of the software. You may have to uninstall the old software first.

Insert the software disc for the HP 1210 printer before you plug the printer into the computer with the USB cable. Allow the disc to install the software. You will be prompted to choose a destination for the software.
Plug in the printer USB cable to the computer when the installation program tells you to. This will be after it has installed any drivers that you need to run the printer on the computer.
Complete the installation by running a print test to make sure the printer software is installed correctly. You may remove the disc after the print test is complete. On this page, select "Download drivers and software." Enter "HP 1210 printer" in the product box and click the arrow to find the drivers. Select your printer from the list provided. This will take you to the next page, on which you will indicate your operating system. Select the "HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver" under "Driver" to begin the download. After the download is complete, you can open the file from the download location and install the software and drivers. Follow the installation software's prompts, after you finish download the drivers you need to double click it,it will give you the option to RUN or DON'T RUN the driver click on RUN and it would continue the installation. Run a test print.

Hi. Try to use and install the software again using the installation cd. When it runs, it should pop up the window with 3 options: Install a printer, Update/Upgrade, or Install additional softwares. Choose install additional softwares. In the next window, place a check mark in Fax solutions. Then, continue and finish the installation. A tip with hp printers is to NOT connect them until you have the software installed. so if you have it connected just unplug it run the drivers from the website and plug it in either when the installer tells you or when it has finished installing the drivers

Thanks for giving me the information. we need to first uninstall all the previous traces of the drivers to do the same . Download the HP uinstaller from the following link: The file name is

1. Make sure the printer is disconnected.
2. Save the file on the desktop
3. Run the uninstaller.
4. Restart the computer when finished.
