Bonnet wont open

cable has un-clipped at ratchet in front of battery. must remover right front grill clips in place then work fingers in gap feel cable and pull gently till unlocks. once bonnet is open clip ratchet together and secure with tie strap

How to replace oil pan

5.2 liter V8 engine?

Remove the four front skid-plate bolts holding the front skid plate, using a ratchet and socket. Remove the skid plate.

Pull the plastic splash shield away from the vehicle, loosening the retaining clips. Remove the splash shield.

  • Place an oil drain container under the oil pan. Loosen the drain fitting with a wrench until oil drains from the pan. When oil is done draining, tighten the drain fitting.

  • Disconnect the electrical connections running to the starter motor. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts with a ratchet and socket, then remove the starter motor.
  • Remove the oxygen sensor socket from the exhaust pipe, using a wrench.
  • Remove the exhaust manifold bolts where the exhaust meets the manifold on both sides, using a ratchet and socket
  • Place an jack under the transmission to support it. Remove the pressure on the transmission crossmember.

  • Remove the bolts that hold the transmission crossmember in place, using a ratchet and socket. Then remove the crossmember. Place a jack stand under the transmission to keep the transmission from falling off the jack if hit. Once removed, the exhaust will hang down, allowing enough room to remove the oil pan.
  • Disconnect the oil level sensor and the nut retaining the transmission cooling lines, using a wrench.
  • Remove the oil pan bolts with a ratchet and socket, then remove the oil pan and gasket.
  • Clean the mounting surfaces of the new oil pan and engine block. Make sure what ever you use to clean the surfaces dosn't gouge the metal.
  • Place a coat of RTV (gasket) sealer on the engine block where the pan will meet the rear main cap.
  • Place the new gasket on the pan and push the new oil pan into place. Finger tighten the oil pan mounting bolts to hold it in place. Tighten the bolts with a torque wrench to 18 ft-lbs. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE BOLTS! Doing so will cause the gasket to deform and create leaks!

  • Connect the oil level sensor and the nut retaining the transmission cooling lines, using a wrench.
  • Place the exhaust back into position and replace the transmission crossmember bolts and crossmember with a ratchet and socket.
  • Remove the jack supporting the transmission.
  • Connect the exhaust back to both sides of the manifold, tightening the bolts with a torque wrench to 20 ft-lbs.
  • Attach the oxygen sensor socket to the exhaust pipe with a wrench.

  • Replace the starter motor by installing the starter motor mounting bolts with a ratchet and socket. Connect the electrical connections to the starter motor that were disconnected during removal.
  • Push the retaining clips on the plastic splash shield into the appropriate retaining clip holes.
  • Replace the front skid plate by replacing the four front skid plate bolts with a ratchet and socket.
  • Fill the engine with 5 quarts of oil. Make sure to check the level on the dipstick to find the exact level when filling.

    My daughter has K2 Debut snowboard bindings which are REALLY hard for her to put on, and especially release. Even I have a hard time. It seems like the black strap with the teeth is just a bit too wide...

    Try changing the black straps. You can get them in almost every Sports shop. Just take one off the ratchets with you and try out the different sizes they have.

    My yamaha pw 80 kickstart wont kick

    Below is a diagram of the inner part of the kick starter. The spring clip shown is the problem. If it gets weak, it doesn't hold the ratchet gear as snugly as is needed. It is best to install a new clip but often you can just squeeze the clip closed a bit for a better hold to the gear. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

    Which kind of binding system is possible to have on this crampon?

    The Air tech comes in the universal (or strap) binding, teh clip-on binding , and the hybrid (universal front with clip-on back)).

    My radiator in my 94 saturn sl needs to be removed and i need to put the new one in. I need to do it myself beacause money is tight. How do i go about doing it?

    1994 Saturn SLx Radiator replacement

    Tools Needed:
    3/8" ratchet
    10mm socket
    10mm deep well socket
    6" extension

    1. Jack up car and support using jack stands.

    2. Start by removing the air tube over radiator by pulling off the 2 small plastic clips attached over the radiator. There is also a sensor connected on the bottom right side near the airbox, so don't just yank it off.

    3. Remove the airbox using the 10mm socket with 6" extension - there are three 10mm bolts holding it down - two behind the airbox and one in front.

    4. Undo the clips holding the wires for the fan and o2 sensor, then disconnect the connector for the fan.

    5. Undo the single 10mm bolt holding the fan to the radiator on the drivers side. Lift up on the left hand side and work the fan housing out at an angle. Careful of the A/C lines - don't force it. The wire clips may bind on the A/C lines, I removed the top wire clip and it made it easier to get out.

    6. Remove radiator cap and drain radiator. Simply turn the drain plug on the passenger side and let it drain - it took about 10 minutes to fully drain for me.
    7. Undo the two 10mm bolts holding the radiator brackets using the deep well socket.
    8. Drain block - single 10mm bolt under the lower radiator hose / thermostat housing.
    9. Remove upper radiator hose.
    10. Remove Lower radiator hose.
    10a. If you have an automatic transmission disconnect the cooler lines at this point, using a flare nut wrench. If you cannot get them off, you can remove them at the transmission side, and purchase new ones from the dealer. Plan on these not coming off, if the car is more than 6 or 7 years old.
    11. Remove the two 10mm bolts (one on driver side and one on passenger side) holding the AC condenser to the front of the radiator. These can be a pain to get off - lift the radiator and condenser as a unit out of the rubber mounts to give you enough room to get a ratchet in there from the front, under the bumper.
    12. Lift up on the right side of the radiator to let it drain the rest of the way (there will still be a little coolant left after you drained it.)
    13. Install new radiator. You may need to remove the metal clips for the bolts off the old radiator and install them on the new one. Reconnect the two 10mm bolts holding the condenser to the radiator on the same way you took them off - this is a real pain. Reconnect the two 10mm bolts for the upper brackets of the radiator using the 10mm deep well socket.
    14. Re-install the upper radiator mounts.

    15. Install lower radiator hose. Now is a good time to replace the hoses. Use hose grease to make it much easier to get them on. It is also a good time to replace the clamps.

    16. Install fan - be sure to re-clip the o2 sensor wire and fan wires, otherwise they may get caught in the fan. Re-connect the fan connector.

    17. Install new upper radiator hose. Before you install this it is a good time to replace the ECTS if you still have the original plastic tipped one, it's easier to get to.

    17a. Auto Transmission - reconnect the cooler lines.

    18. Reinstall airbox, air ducts, re-connect the air temperature sensor.

    19. Refill radiator. You will need to check the level periodically over the next few days and add as necessary.

    How do i know when snowboard bindings are tight enough (hand tightening screws to board)?

    I would think that you could pull out the inserts or break a screw if you got them too tight. I would suggest only using a screwdriver type handle for tightening - no ratchet or other leverage. Just get them as tight as you can with one hand and you should be OK. They don't really need to be that tight - it is more coming apart that is the problem. The other problem is rusting. Both of these problems can be solved by using a high quality tread locking compound - the best is LocTite. Most stores that carry hardware will carry threadlock compound - this will prevent the bindings from loosening up.
